:(
From what I understand, these are not necessarily cancerous but need to be removed.
Hang in there, Bunny.

Go to the doc, Mrs V!!! I've been bleeding for about 5 weeks, never have had in-between bleeding if you know what I mean....did not catch it at my December well-woman visit. The doc ordered a pelvic ultrasound and BAM! there it was....

Ms. Bunny166,
My wife has gone through a WHOLE bunch of these issues (I went through them with her, but not the pain). It started with pains in between her monthlies for a few days, then grew over 6 months to pain for 2 weeks between her monthlies. Doctor visits to her normal family doc were fruitless.
One day she was lying on the couch, out with being sick, or so we thought. She had really bad cramping issues in her tummy and lower abdomen areas. Her kidneys hurt around her back area as well. I offerred to do what I could, heat, ice, walking, and it helped very little. I finally after 2 days took her to the the ER, where she passed out (after waiting 3 hours on a chair - that's another thread in it's entirety) and I demanded rather loudly that we get a doctor over here right away (with a few well placed threats and curse words). They prodded, they probed, they asked rude questions like how many sexual partners have you had, they pumped fluid up the out chute and did a scan, the pumped fluid in her tummy and did a scan, they thought it was her appendix, they watched her vomit all over herself, they watched her poop all over the bed, they watched her cry in pain. Until, I called her OB-Gyn doc (really cool lady) and she ordered up a intervaginal scan, where, lo and behold there was a cyst about the size of a grapefruit! The on call surgeon (OB type) operated immediately and ripped it out. Problem solved.
Or so we thought.
They started coming back about 6 months down the road and we went straight to her OB doc. It was determined that she had endometriosis (sp?), fibroids, and cysts growing again. They were all non-cancerous, but very painful and a blow to her quality of life. The cycle started all over again. Long story shortened up by 2 paragraphs, we ended up having all the parts taken out that were causing the issues. The plumbing arena diminished by 70%! We are done having children, so that wasn't an issue, but boy, the hysterectomy was the right choice for us.
Hormone replacement therapy aside (that was a breeze really) the whole issue has gone away with the path we took.
It is a very scary time, but with the research we did and speaking with our doc, the majority of the cysts are non-cancerous. They are not worry free and deserve checking out and doing what you think is best.
Toby

My mom had one. She has been cramping for over a year now. She went into kaiser a year ago because she started bleeding and cramping (She has already gone through the "change") and they said she was fine. So she has new insurance now, and she had them check it out and they found a cyst in there. They were observing it every six weeks to see if it changed in size and it went away. Hope this helps a little. I hope everything turns out ok for you. :D

Oh, your poor wife! :supp: What an ordeal for you guys!! I'm glad she's doing better :clover: --I'll know more later today. I guess it's not too big yet, but you know how the ultrasound tech can't really tell you anything....There was no denying it, though;it was clear as a bell on the screen...

Bunny ask to be checked for PCOS poly cystic ovarian syndrome, seems to very common these days, why noone seems to be able to give my wife or myself a decent answer. Just to be on the safe side, there are prescription meds that will help reduce the Cysts, and some of the pain that can come with them. Good luck and hope you feel better, Mike and Margaret VG

See your doctor as soon as possible. My wife had same symtoms and after being seen her General Practician at Kaiser, demanded she been seen by an OB/GYN Specialist. She got the Best specialist they had. Turned out to be a cyst and fibroids. She was scared before the surgery (understandably so), and ended up with a total hysterectomy. (She really bad that No Kids for us, I have two by earlier marriage). Thank God no signs of cancerous growths. She now sees her OB/GYN specialist yearly with out fail. Several of her girlfriends told her she would feels so much better after the removal of the cyst and fibroids. They were correct. She felt better immediately!
We will definately see you on Saturday, at the dance performance. Please speak to Joanie about these things. She will listen to you and share her experience. We both wish you a speedy recovery.

Hay sweetie...
I had a cist on my left ovarie (sp) 6 yrs back.... I was having bad pain and some spotting too, I went to my OB and she did the inside ultrasound and told me it was a cist and then she said OH, AND WHAT'S THIS.... YOUR PREGNANT TOO!!!! I about fell off the bed!!! LOL She would'nt remove it while I was pregnant but during delivery we guess it ruptured on it's own because it was gone!!! Thank god!!
But a year and a half ago I was diagnosed with cevical cancer and it freaked me out!!! It was cancerous but the OB froze it and it was gone.... at least for now, I go back soon for my well visit to check again next month. I had to go every two months at first now I got to wait for a year so I'm very curious to see whats going on in there!!!
