Yeah, I went there this winter a few times. Cool place if you've got a WW or trailer. It's pretty wide open, good if you like desert riding. A few rocky mtn trails too. It's about 45 mins north of Adelanto off the 395. I think there is another fwy, something like the 58 you take west from 395.

Calif City is at the North end of the 14 fwy at the Jctn with Hiway 58 in Mojave. Between k5 and K6 on your AAA Calif map.

All of the directions are pretty accurate, I just suggest that you take the ride to randsburg for some refreshments at the local salloon. Very interesting place. You can also ride to Jawbone Canyon or Dove Springs (great places to ride)

It is a great place to ride Mrs.V. Hubby was just there last weekend. Should not take you that long to get there. It is only an hour from us. And you are less then 2 hours from us. Fun place to ride. And Ransburg is a kick if you can get there. PM if you need any more information.

Kilr is right. It is very close to 'four corners' if you know where that is. Also, out the direction, Dove Springs is good riding as is Red Mountain.

Hi Mrs. V, long time no talk to.
Stay on the 14 north thru Mojave. About 10 minutes above Mojave and past the 58 there is a 4 way stop on the 14 with a sign for California city on your right (east).
If you go right, this is the main drag thru town (and it is a drag).
Go all the way to the end of this street, make a left (just past the golf course).
That road will take you northeast towards Red Mountain and Garlock.
When you pass the RV dump station and the big Mojave Desert sign, you can ride anywhere, left or right of the road.
It is actually pretty cool, there was a master-planned community laid out in the 80's (Ronny Raygun's cold war heyday). When you get up on a hilltop, you can see all of the roads, streets, blvd's, have been graded out of the dirt, and are still there.
Great riding for quads and bikes. Randsburgh is the place to go (the white house bar was an old ***** house). Serve great burgers and cold beer. About a 45min ride from the road. Just watch for desert tortoise fencing, and stay out, it's a big fine.
Call us if any questions, weather is perfect for cal city right now.
