Looking at fianally getting a new truck.
Crewcab, so the question is 6ft or 8ft bed?
Want the extra cargo space, as I have been driving long WB chevy Van for 15 years.
My so called buddies keep telling me 6 ft bed, as 8ft crewcab more difficult to manuver in parking lots, drive-thru's (I.E. Fast Food joints).
This is an everday driver, used for work, plus play on weekends.
Test drove a Duramax CC 8ft bed yesterday, there was a Home Depot down the street from the dealership. I whipped in there to test, It did not seem like any big deal to me, maybe my buddies are just whimps or something!

I have a 8' beed and it really comes in handy when you want to haul things around. :D more than my old 6'. You do have a noticable difference when getting around in tight spaces, but for me it is no big deal.

8 foot.
Quit driving through and walk in or skip it altogether (imagine the weight loss  ). Parking is no big deal.
The extra space is way cool and when you need it, you wish you had it.

Home depot has BIG parking spaces.....
8 foot is long, both the wife and i have trouble getting into spots with the 6 bed.... Rememebr most lots are made for mazda Miata's, not 2500's.....

That is why you learn to park and walk  take up a couple spots away from all the other vehicles.

8 is really long and good luck parking
Home depot spots are meant for big vehicles, the rest of the world is not.......
yes we always park far away and walk, I dont want door dings....

I have a 6' bed. If it was 8', it would not fit into my garage. I like to keep it inside at night.

I have a 3500 with CC and 8 foot bed. With a saddle tool box, it only has 6 feet left....
8 foot fits a camper, and plywood, 2x4's, ladders etc inside. It more better!
Kilrtoy is just a shitty parker. :hammerhea I've seen him without a shirt, he should park further and walk more. :p

Get the crew with 6 foot bed and do the Quadrasteer thing, a ten minute drive in a parking lot is all it will take and you'll be hooked. Unless you do construction work and haul alot of long things, (2x4's), there isn't a real need for an 8-foot bed. If you do a Q-steer, do it soon, it's the last year.

If you buy the chevy - 6ft bed
If you buy the ford - 8ft bed
IMO, just for the looks aspect.
Even with my 6ft bed crew cab, sometimes it is difficult for parking and the drive thru's.......

I have to agree with Kilr here..some lifts do ride alot better than stock and even look pretty damn good. But I've done all that in the past, so I'm too old for it now I guess. Just gimme a nice ride in a "bone stock" truck.

Get the eight foot bed. My wife drives the truck daily and doesn't have any issues. We don't have any door dings either. The bigger bed is more convenient plus the longer wheelbase makes for a nicer ride while towing.

The downside to an 8' bed is the bounce on the 101 empty... I need a kidney belt to drive 65. Smoothes right out @ 70 though ;)
