So I got suckered into this Napster deal and busted out the credit card today. Reading everything it said I was under the impression that for $9.95 a month you get unlimited downloads. I figured what the hell unlimited music for $9.95 thats my kinda deal so I paid up and got it going.
Needless to say Napster suckered my ass big time. $9.95 entitles me to unlimited downloads onto my computer and the ability to stream a lot of music. However, many artists make their music available for buy only so you have to pay $0.99 to buy the song if you want to hear it. If you want to burn a song it must be purchased as well for $0.99 so basically I could just spend the $10 a month on Sirius and listen music anywhere instead of just being able to listen to music on my computer only.
Thumbs down to the record exectives that devised this little scam. The record industry is such a racket. They go ape sh*t because they feel like they are getting ripped off even though at Napsters peak the music industries sales were soaring out of control. They shut down napster then open it back up and figure out a way to scam the general public.
F*ck the record industry and F*ck Napster.

I had no problem buying CD's when Napster was still free. I use to download a song I'd hear on the radio plus a few others from the same album if I liked them I'd go buy the entire album. I was probably spending 2-300 a month on CD's. When the music industry shut down Napster and started fining people thousand's I stopped buying music from them.
Seriously, if the record industry was smart they'd offer unlimited music downloads to the general public for a fair price like $20 a month. If they did something like that they subscriber base would grow so fast they wouldn't know what to do with all of the money they were making. $20 a month with a subscriber base of lets say 100 million would equate to 2 billion a month. I don't know about you but that sure seems like a smart idea to me. Not to mention all the additional merchandising they could do by selling band apparel right there on the website that you're downloading from.
I can't think of a single household that wouldn't be willing to pay $20 a month for unlimited music.

I started downloading after 2500 cd's got ripped off out of my house afew years ago...napster crapped out ..lost about 3000 songs, went to kaza, computer crapped out lost about 2000 songs.. and limewire just popped up a error message yesterday 1200 songs. but this time i backed them all up with real player... A bud of mine has 23,000 songs on two hard drives...25 bucks a GIG ..not a bad deal! he charges everyone else 100

How do I get my limewire songs over to my music private folder? I'm a little confused on how to do that.

I also say the HELL with Napster. I had to reload the Napster software for what ever reason and after that I couldn't play the songs that I had paid for from Napster, and Napster would not reply to any of my e-mails concerning this matter.

Just roll off every 800 MB to CD. You can always re-load later.
