Just got the renewal on my homeowners policy for the Havasu house. Never really noticed the amount since the wife pays the bills at home. Thought the policy seemed kinda high, $1,100/yr for policy written through London Bridge Ins. Agency with Auto Owners Insurance. House is nothing much, 3 bed, 2 bath bought in 94 for only 80K.
What kinda rates are you guys paying and with who. Just checking to make sure I'm not getting taken.

Duane, I had American Family Ins. in Havasu for a couple months when I bought the house. Then they cancelled me because my primary home in Ca. had to be insured through them as well, but couldn't because they don't write Ca. policy. I guess they goofed by getting my insured in the first place. It was like $500. After searching for someone to insure me in Havasu, I found Wichersham Insurance Company, they write for Auto Owners, now I freakin pay $745. Their number is 928-758-7999.
Good luck,
Frank

that's a rip! I live in Havasu bought a new home 2003 and I pay nothing like that amount. Call american national. They have good home rates. Plus I'm on the impound account.

Call Greg Barnes at American Family 928-855-1109. We had a tough time getting second home insurance, AAA wouldn't touch us. I think I have $200,000 of coverage and pay $525 per year. They have never said that we had to have our primary home insured with them. I have sent several friends to Greg with the same results.

They probably are aware of the shinanagons that goes on at your place. If I were an insurance company, I would be charging you more just because of some of the things I have personaly witnessed. :jawdrop:

Who's your primary home insured through. Mines with Mercury but they don't write Arizona. We bought our Havasu house with my in-laws. They are with State Farm. We got the Havasu house done with State Farm but they made us use a broker in Arizona. It's only like 350 a year though for 232,000

Duane: Alex Ross at State Farm for less than half of what you're paying now.

I have Greg Barnes with AM Family, and just sent a friend to him. Mine is a bit higher, like $1,200 I believe, bit it is based on square footage, pool, fireplaces, and other issues. I have 4,000 square feet, so the price is quite fair I think.
