Anyone on here a Carrier dealer, or can get me MSRP on their products??
I'm doing a little research on my own on the bids I've gotten to put AC in the house. Just want to be able to double check the numbers.

Look up "Hal" in the member list. He did a killer deal on a scratch and dent 4 ton package unit for me a few years ago.

Can you be more specific on what products you need prices for? Also how much are they doing the job for. I have a buddy that does this for a living and he is really good with his pricing. Can probably save you 1 g

I haven't started "negotiating" on the bid price yet, wanted to see if they are screwing me on the equipment costs, just can't find anything online. Must be a secret... :D

if you want to do it right and plan on keeping the place do a 410a which is puron. However i have one question do you want installation as well or just product prices. The reason i ask, is because everyone that can get this stuff has to be a licensed contractor. I beleive it will be hard for you to get accurate prices unless you are planning to have installation done as well.
Let me know so i can find out for you and get back to you.

The price I have is installed. I just want to do a little research on my own and not take their word for it as to what everything costs.
They are one of the better companies in town, but I like to do my homework.

all the equipment cost is $3250 if it is a verticle furnace and coil.

Here are a couple sources I used whwn replacing my system last year.
The price varied by as much as $4,000 between diffrent contractors so get more than 1 estimate using the exact same equipment. I was told the best deals are in Feb-March when they are slow.

I'm sure people will have opinions but here goes. I can't really see much difference in brands anymore.
American Standard = Trane
Rheem/Rudd
and so forth and so on.
Stay away from the Goodman bunk....
The high pressures of 410a bother me.
You can get Rheem/Rudd from here http://www.smarterwayinc.com/ dirt cheap. Then just get it installed.

Everyone has there own opinion on 410 you just need to know how to use it, and if you do you will notice a 75% drop in your monthly bill.

Last year I had a new Trane 5 ton unit placed on the roof of my Havasu house. Now mind you this place uses A/C, as I have another 2 ton unit on the lower level. Both units a re heat pumps. It is very quiet, and my electric bill during the times I use it seem to be about 40% less that the old unit. Tranes warranty is 10 years.
