It was time for the yearly trip with all the guys from work, had the big cove down at the damn and got ripped off on Saturday night. We were there until about 7:00 pm and back at 10:00 am
Here are the things we know they took so far, still trying to figure out what else might be missing.
(2) of the 6 ice chests full of food,
(2) of (3) of our gas BBQs
All of the propane bottles
(1) big bag of charcoal
(1) of the Ez-ups that were not set up
My box anchor that was in the water
There were (2) very deep V marks in the sand from a pontoon
there were also no drag marks from the ice chests, they picked them up!
All I can say is I am sick of the frickin low life scum bags!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah we left it out all night, we have been doing it for years. We usually leave our anchor hooked, the ez-up frame and the chairs and maybe the BBQ and have never had trouble. Many years ago we were really brave and use to leave our tubes in the cove but last year someone stole my tube in havasu.
I have never had any trouble at Mohave until now. The people at the store said that it got really bad last year and now things are even getting ripped from the boats while in the slips. This really sucks, I saw a lot of deck boats kicking it in the slips with sub woofer cabs just kickin it there along with wakeboards and tubes in many of the boats

Didn't get ripped off but I got my kind of new Avalanche keyed at Golden Nugget in Laughlin Saturday night. I noticed that there was a different vehicle than the one I parked next to.
I guess the meal at Joe's Crab shack is going to be a little more expensive now...........I'd like to catch these crooks and vandals just once so I could snap each one of their fingers off..... the pus-filled maggots.

I wasn't at Mohave, but someone walked off with the tongue jack on my travel trailer sometime last week. Not a huge deal, it's only 30.00 to replace it, but still pisses me off that some focktard tweeker would steal it.
I bet if I went to the swap meet on Saturday, I could have bought it back.

never had a problem with stuff being ripped off but then again.I dont leave anything on a beach overnight.Prefer to take it with me when i go and leave for the day.
Go ahead and say what you want. But in todays world there are just too many people that you cant trust.

I haven't stayed at that end of the lake in for over 10 years. The last few years it has been pretty bad with that type of stuff going on. Didn't a band of marauding lesbians steal a bunch of stuff last year or the year before and someone tried to confront the bulldikes at the ramp or something?

Maybe it's time to set a "trap" and hang out in hiding waiting for the tweekers to come by and start stealing your gear. Ought to be pretty easy to catch them but it'd take a lot of patience waiting for the scum bags.

I did exactly this about five years ago on Mohave. We were ripped off two nights in a row, so we figured third night is a charm...Right? Nope. The fockers didn't show up the third night. Too bad they had a real big, loud surprise waiting for them!!!

I've friends who have had all sorts of stuff ripped between Mo-windy, Needles, and the California Landing marina. One set of friends keep their beach by using decoys; an old beat-up bouy anchored with a piece of cinderblock, then they leave 2 old beat -up chairs on the sand. 99% of the time all is left alone and they get their beach... if the monsters make off with their junk, it's just that, junk.
(Maybe a tweaker bomb idea here.. bake a rajin' batch of brownies and blend in about 30 chocolate ex-lax. Leave those in the box overnight for the loadies to steal...I bet they chad in their boxers before their boat hits Telephone cove.. just remind everyone NOT to touch them in the icebox :crossx: )

I got ripped at Mohave in 03. Took what they wanted and then vandalized everything else. Stabbed the air mattresses, pulled the sea doo off the beach and let it go, cut slits in our tarp, etc. etc. Scumbags!

Dilli, absolutely agree with you on the semi-permanent beach piles people leave.. then show up 5 days later and dog you about "their beach" being used when the stuff was baking all week in the sun.. last time I checked beaches aren't reserved "by the season"... and yes, folks who won't pack out the wind-ruined eazy-up, chip bags, used diapers, or who throw their glass bottles in the fire pits are trash..
BUT thieves and vandals are the worst.... they deserve to be caned at high noon and dipped in a vat of hot vinegar right after...
Just like attracting unwanted attention from the authorites with dumb actions and too many words, if you leave valuables out, in the marina or on the beach, don't be suprised when it's no longer there in the morning.

Sounds like a plan. Step #1. Get in your boat and.....dote. Step#1(revised) - Buy a boat.....

I guess I've lived in So Cal to long. I go by the "if you like it, lock it" mode of thinking.

You probably also subscribe to the "I you steal it and I catch you with it, I'll beat you to death with it" mode of thinking too. :D That's my personal favorite.
I did catch a kid about half way through my sliding window in an S10 truck I had. That kid got beat for every single thing that had ever been stolen from me in my life. I even told him "this is for the stingray that got stolen when I was 12" as I booted him one last time. :D

We were jacked by 2 different people in the same afternoon! We were day-camped at Telephone on the nevada side. we came back to camp to BBQ some lunch and noticed the campers next to us were letting thier trash blow away. We said a few verbal hints and went back out onto the water. When we returned, the only thing left was my truck! So we aske the someone a couple groups down were are crap was and they said the people in the van loaded it all up! They said they were making themselves at home using our chairs and ice-chests and thought that since we were talking to them (the trash dumpers) that we were together! The second theif stole a freinds backpack that had her wallet and my truck keys in it. After bumming a ride back to the Casino, my buddy gets a call on his celly froma guy named John who found the backpack on the road out. He dropped of the backpack, less all the money from the wallet, and I spotted him a hundy for helping us out. So a few days go by and my freind credit card show unauthorized charges. She calls the Circle-K and speaks to the manager. The manager remembers the transaction quite well. She say's: "Oh yea, that was John the mobile detailer. He said the card belonged to hid girlfreind!" I guess he's pretty popular in bullhead city. After he was arrested he said this was his first time doing something like this. What a piece of crap!
DILLIGAF, if you know this clown or use his services, tell him I want my hundy back!!!!
Sorry about the long post,
Chris

Nothing hurts me more than pulling into my favorite cove on Mohave and having to clean it before we set up. To me that is worse than the the thefts. If you use it you should have respect for it and leave it clean! I have always left my stuff on the beach (except for the booze) and only had a problem once. Some fokkers slashed everything. Chairs, easyups, tubes, they didn't take anything, just destroyed it. My theory is that these are the trashy locals just getting their kicks.

I was one of the victims he's talking about. Stole my shoreline achore, 2 regular anchor setups, bbq, fishing poles, etc. Worst was watching my daughter cry because someone stole her pole.
It's almost a guarantee that your stuff will disappear now up at Mojave. Almost worth leaving your stuff out, hiding in the bushes and waiting til the low-lifes show up.
And how tuff would it be for the police to nab these people.
See a pontoon pull in with 3 bbq, 4 anchors, etc. How bout staking out the ramp and monitoring who comes in/out after dark.
Where would one sell used anchors and crap anyway?

My theory is that these are the trashy locals just getting their kicks.
Or frustrated weekenders that can't seem to get a decent beach no matter how early they hit the water.
Stealing/destroying people's crap is just friggen wrong! But sometimes I understand the motive. I don't condone it, but I can understand. It's always tweeked me to get out early and find one beach after another "staked out" with chairs and whatnot so these folks can come out around noon the next day and not have to find a beach.

That sucks, I've never thought about trying to get a cove at Mohave, we just usually drive the boat to the opposite end of the lake, up by cottonwood where it is all rocky ;)
Why put your boat on the water and drive two minutes and sit there all day?
I've never understood the channel either (I'm weird)
I like to cruise through gasoline alley:D
But thanks for the heads up, will not leave anything on the beach overnight:D

Not recently but 2 yrs ago we had everything stolen I was dumb enough to tuck my jet ski behind the ez-up and they took my jet ski, ez-up, coolers, my kids play pens, toys, and food box, and chairs... Never again do we leave anything overnight, like Tom said you are really not supposed to leave anything..we caught some locals one times totally using our shit and drinking our beers when we pulled up  F@ckn thieves i tell you...

Sad to say but the un-fortunate low costs (i mean payments) of boats and stuff these days have brought many low lifes to the lakes... Everywhere last labor day in Havi we almost got in a fight with some peeps who thought it was cool to shoot water and waterballoons at us in the channel... ALL WEARING cut off jeans and street clothes in the water... FAGS....No respect what so ever...

I can't believe you dumds ass's leave all your stuff on the beach...overnight. It's not like someone (for the most part) broke into your vehicle and took something. You abandoned you property on govenment land, in most case's illegally.
This is the reason why you can't camp in the city park.
Half you assholes would store your boat in your neighbor front yard, and beat the shit out of them if they moved it, if you could get away.
This sounds more like the sierra club cleaning up the beach, than a tweeker. But who really cares, their not as dumb as you leaving all your crap on the beach overnight.
I say this year is open season on abandon junk left overnight on the beach.

Outsider point of view:
I think we are running into two different way of looking at things here.
Living in both the city and later very rural area I can appreciate both points of view.
In the city anyone leaving stuff outside would be classified an idiot.
Example: In Miami you would be insane to leave anything lying on any beach or key unattended.
In most rural areas leaving stuff outside is normal.
Example: On our cove in Lake Travis its completly normal to leave stuff even boats on the shore overnight. Course that is backed up with some texas sized shotgun happy neighbors watching over stuff.
Not knowing Havasu I cant say where you guys fall in but from what i am reading it seems like currently you are transitioning from small town atmosphere to having the big city crap mentality taking over little by little.

I'm just amazed people leave shit on a beach out in the middle of nowhere, and expect it to be there when they get back the next day.. Especially expensive stuff? Coolers full of beer? WTF?
As well how is it right that people just leave there stuff there as a "reservation" for their beach on the following day? I don't know about boating up there as I've never been there.. But I can't imagine just leaving coolers of beer laying around and expecting them to be there no matter where you go?
