Did anyone see the shows on the Blue Angels on the military channel? I recorded them from last week...unbelievable. What those guys do and go through in incredible! :jawdrop: The camera shots were awesome. Nothing but respect for the military and what they do.

The last two times I went to Glamis a few of them were flying around out there and doing some practice moves..fun to watch it outside of the normal arena.

They train in El Centro for 10 weeks before their season starts in March. 3 flights a day, brief and critique after each one, 6 days a week. whoa...

I've been to numerous air shows featuring the Blue Angels and other teams. The Blue Angels put on a great show but an even better one is the Canadian Team, I think they're called the "Snowbirds". They had more planes in the air at one time than the Angels. Saw them a few years back at Point Magoo.

I love the Blue Angels [they're a household team here at
the Abbostford International Airshow ] ,but the snowbirds
don't get the same recognition, even though there are 9
of them flying at once. I have the 1986 video [ during the
Vancouver Expo ] which was the highlight of any
airshows. We had the Angels ,Snowbirds , the Funicolares
[italian team] the Tricolours [french team] and the
brazilian team. The Concord and Antonov was
represented as well.

The four episode series on the Blue Angels is the best and most indepth show I have seen on the Blue's. Awesome!!!! I think the Blue's fly the tightest show of any of the flight demonstration teams. The Snowbirds fly more planes, but, not nearly the prescision...

Here's what they started out flying back in '46. Grumman Bearcat.
Anybody know what they were originally going to be called?

I saw the blue angels once and it was pretty impressive although they didn't do any gear-up touch and goes like you have pictured. I guess they save the good shit for American audiences.

JBB, not to burst your bubbles ,there was a Mig 27 or 29
[I don't remember :yuk: ]at one of the older shows
doing a maneuver that the Angels never did .It was
sort of a back flip . The russian's electronic equipment is
crude ,but the pilots are top notch :coffeycup .
