About two years ago, I put a high output ultraviolet air purifier in my furnace plenum. The UV light is harmful to organic material like virus, bacteria, mold spores, etc. It's the technology that was developed to control anthrax in ductwork so it won't spread through a building.
I've only had two colds in that time. I wouldn't want to say that I would have had more colds in that time but I used to get tons of colds so I suspect it is working very well. Of course, if you spend most of your time somewhere else, it can't help with that.
I think it cost me 200 bucks and it was certainly easy to install.
Just a thought...

I am sorry your not feeling well, the weather is so beautiful out and it sure is a nice kind of day to spend outside. I hope your feeling better very soon Brian, lots of liquids (water, gatorade) and lots of rest.
