Talked to our harbor master at Lake Mead yesterday and asked about the current level, up 20' over the last few weeks, but now has started dropping again, 1' he said. He told me they have been allowed to hold more water at Lake Powell. So far, Lake Powel was down another foot to -144. When does the snow start to melt and feed the upper basin?
Boating on the lake was awsome Saturday, but Hemminway launch ramp was a disaster. Can you imagine in April, the crowd was fairly large, and a lot of boaters who haven't learned the first rule of courtesy, would pull their boats barely out of the water and proceed to wipe down, unload/etc. A total Chinese fire drill. Not a ranger in sight to help get control. Wonder what the summer will bring...
