3 day mexico cruise question

i know it has been thrashed around before but....
for a three day mexico cruise out of LA, which cruise line, carnival or royal carribean?... do you spend the top dollar for the nicest cabin/deck or go mid range because you don't spend that much time in it anyways???
i already know...smuggle on the booze....

We had a lower level room but it was an outside one. I think we were on the lowest level for guests, but having the window was nice. The boat rock wasn't as noticable down there as well. We really didn't spend much time in the room. We were either on the deck or wandering around when we were on the boat :)
If we went on a longer cruise than the Ensenada 3-day, I'd opt for a nicer room, but it was still a fun time, we were on Carnival.

I an going on a 7 night Carribbean on sat but leaving for Florida in 6 hrs. We are going on the Royal Carribbean and have the cheap rooms so I will have an opinion on this in a week and a half. Some of the peeps (12 in our group) got the upgraded rooms so I will have something to compare ours to.
I CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!! 8 days of PARTYING with my wife and 10 of our friends.

3 day ensenada cruise? We go on it every year. Unless you have the extra cash, just get the cheaper room. You don't spend much time in it anyway. Ask for a lower level (doesn't rock as much). I heard you don't want to be at the back of the boat either, I guess you can hear the engines and it gets annoying? We've gone Carnival about 5 years now....Oh, and smuggle on the booze :D

Carnival Fun Ship is a good way to go, we had a good time on that one. Didn't spend much time in the room either, but I would opt for the lower level also. Have a good time!

Thats good info. Also I have been on the 3 day ensenada cruise on both Royal Carribean (monarch of the Seas) and Carnival (Paradise) and the Royal Carribean was a much nicer boat. I think the food was better on carnival. Opt for the cheaper room but one with a window (its like $20 bucks more). We spent zero time in the room. I didnt smuggle booze the last time because it was too much of a pain to carry it around when I did it the first time. I know if you try to carry it on they will probably take it from you, but if you put it in your bag that you check your ok. I just never wanted to walk all the way back to the room to get a drink or carry a backpack around. Also that cruise is a floating whorehouse! I call it the Bangbus! There are woman of all ages looking to hook up!

Ahhh yeah...and BTW, if the cabin next to you happens to be full of 50-something year old broads that sell sex toys, and your 24 year-old buddy ends up hooking up with one of them during the cruise, don't be too hard on him...b/c what happens on the cruise....(you know the rest)..... :D :hammer2:
