Way back when I was in high school... :coffeycup
A buddy of mine had a 1970 hardtop 442. Drop the clutch and it would burn off as long as you held the pedal down.

Bet he didn't even have to hold down the brake either :D

Definitely not. The most fun thing to do with that car was to sit at a dead stop with the wheel turn all the way to left. Then drop it down!
WhewwwwwWeeeeeeee.....Hookie after hookie until you burn the tires up.
The good old days. Too bad though, tore up a good car.
Sure wish I had that car today. :coffeycup

That is a nice car.
Look for my restored 68' 442 convertable floating around Havasu/ It is white with pearl white seats and a white boot. A nice built (Pfaff/Advance) original 400 engine and turbo 400. It runs nice on 91 octane blended with race fuel.
Look for the "trumpet" exhaust tips.

Will it do a burnout? :D

Yes, but it has to be coaxed due to the cam, a W-22 model, and the stock 3.08 air conditioning gears. Back in the days GM used a long as% v-belt for the A/C. So they had to keep the freeway RPM down. So the 3.08 gears. I think 1st chifts to second at about 45 mph, with about 8' of rubber left on the ground as a reminder that your just went into second!
I am finishing a 1971 Plymouth GTX. Before the complete rebuild it would NOT stop burning rubber for about 100 yards. A bit more torque in the 440. It is a real handfull. I drove a friends 71 Hemi GTX about a month ago. Let's just say..out of control is full throttle. Any stab of the gas pedal below 50 mph is tire smoke

My Aunt had a 1970 W-30 when I was in high school. She would let me drive it and you always had to cruise around with the windows down to let all the smoke out! lol It had an auto trans and if you were in drive rolling along at about 50mph all you had to do was stab the gas and it would just hase the tires.
That was one mean ass car. To bad the 455 is such a shitty jet boat engine. There sure is a lot of jetters stuck with them.
