View Full Version : First $200,000 28' Deckboat!

Keith E. Sayre
05-12-2005, 02:03 PM
Wow! Here's the breakdown of what is probably the coolest and for sure the
most expensive 28' deckboat on the planet! Bob and Tina Pecoy designed and had us
build it with lots of help! Tinas parents have a home in the keyes in Parker and will be seen this weekend running the Parker strip. (About 117 mph if you really want
to know.) That's with 4 people, all the kids stuff onboard, 75 gallons of av gas and the big stereo too!
We sold him the boat prerigged without an engine or drive or gimble. Paul Pfaff built him a 1300 hp quad rotored EFI 557 incher. Then Gordy and the boys at Pfaffs installed it with an IMCO 4 X 4 outdrive. Bullet proof package
that idles right and shifts great with a tranny! It does like the gas though!
Then he went to get himself a trailer at Extreme and saw Jesse James leaving with his new trailer. Not being one to be outdone, Bob stepped up again!
Then the real magic happened at Dick Vales shop. He even painted the underneath side of the engine hatch to match! There's so many different
cool things hidden in the paint that I won't start! Check out the skulls in
the blue stripe though!
An Outstanding boat for an outstanding family. Have fun Bob and Tina and
kids!

That is a very nice boat!! I can't believe anyone would want to go that fast in a deckboat, and I'm surprised thet didn't extend the paint through the rub rail. That white rub rail splits that nice paint job in two.

Oh and OutColed: our Conquests are stiffer and a bit heavier than your Magic
even though the bottom is the same. I've driven Lee Crissells deckboat 114.1
and it was stout and solid feeling still. Oh and our windshields take all but a
tiny bit of the wind off of the driver and passenger. So the speed thing
isn't too bad in the back half of the boat.
As for the #6 drive question, the above mentioned #6 drive in a Conquest is
a runnin boat. Yes the CG thing is a bit of an issue to consider but they don't break! But you've got to compensate the mass and the weight with
more horsepower but then the prop selection is awesome for the #6 also.

Well, you are severely outnumbered. Several peeps have obviously seen this boat run. Also have seen it up close. They don't seem to share your outlook.
Seems to me, you are pretty close to all the involved owner(s) and whatnot. Given the degree of your RAGE, I would have to guess that you were supposed to be a part of this rig and got left out. So, jealousy seems to be really working you up. :(
Go make amends with these people and surely they will let you ride on the boat.
Have your doctor(s) raise your level of medication, it's not working. Then, stay off the boards. This kind of bashing is not what we're here for.

I'm still lost about the previous comments.
I was going to add however that the best part of these real fast deckboats
is that they're so easy to drive. Anyone and I mean anyone with any driving
experience at all can safely drive one of these boats 75+ mph. Obviously if
you intend to leg it out and get more than that a bit of experience will always
be smart but it's a fun boat to drive and those Pfaff quads just make torque
that is unbelievable. The midrange is really fun, it hits hard, kind of like a turbo motor without the lag?..
Keith Sayre
Conquest Boats
Also--look out for Steve Hensleys deckboat. its a top cat I with Gary Teagues quad rotor in it. He also has a flat engine hatch and mufflers so you can't see it or hear it coming but it'll get you. You'll notice that when he
idles through the channel, the 36" prop pushes the boat at an 800 rpm idle
too fast to be no wake. kind of like driving the old flattie! in and out.
