any comments.
Yes, go bigger if you plan on running on Lake Pacific because he will want to upgrade sooner than he thinks.
Oh and another thing, economical and boating are two words that do not go well together :rollside:

Right back at ya - I've always loved the low profile (no pun intended) of the Dana 27.

I could not agree more with this. Also in the big blue I like twins just in case. The 29 Chester Cheetah has listed is as nice a riding 29 you will find. I am a little biased as we own one. Also with the single is about as economical as boating gets. There will be more bigger boats with twins for sale as gas prices climb IMHO.

Thanks for the kind words PShift - We definately need to hook up on the water one of these days to compare rides since we're pretty much the only 2 in CA that I know of. Preferably somewhere far from Lost Isle this time... :rollside:

How much $$ is he looking to spend? I would suggest getting the biggest, newest boat in his price range with stock power.

I think he is leaning towards a westcoast boat. I sent him the info on the 29 shockwave, the dana is a killer deal but with the open bow, its not too salt friendly.
I also sent him to look at some Bajas for the price. Thanks guys.

we have both come to conclusion that we are going to leave a shitty river boat at our river pads and build something that is ocean worthy. Since we both live accross the street from the beach, him in DP and me in SD and the river is 4.5 hours away to go boating.
I think he is leaning towards the 29 shockwave or an east coast older with twins.
Thanks guys

598 runs great. The sound is really something with the 5" dry exhaust.

Do some research on the year Baja you are considering. On the other boards there have been a few threads that discussed stringer issues in some of the Outlaws. Don't remember the year or model. The new 30 is a nice boat.
