1989 eliminator

Hello to all! This is my first post so if i do anything wrong please let me know.
I am new to the boating world(as far as shopping for my own boat.) I am looking at a 1989 eliminator 208 edge skier with a 200 hp yamaha(orgn to boat) The motor has a new pwr head etc on it with reciepts for $7000 us(i live near vancouver b.c.) The motor has 43 hrs on it and the boat has 498 hrs on it. Its in great condition with the orgn. trailer etc. He is asking 17,000 canadian for it. What do you guys think? I can't find and info on the 208 edge skier so any help/advice would be welcome. Thank you.

Thank-you, i have read these forums for a while now and have hot boat for a few years. Hopefully some will offer some input on the boat, i wish i could find some info on it.

I've always liked the looks of the 208 Edge.A friend of mine had one with an I/O and it ran good but rides hard in rough water.Interior has a lot more room with the outboard.i think i saw the boat your talking about.Good looking boat.
