What causes a beeping sound in a Merc 525

My buddy is on the water and he called to see if anyone knows why his boat is making a beeping noise. He said it does it 5 times every few minutes. Boat is an 06 Conquest with a Mercury 525. Thanks.

Yes, boat will start, but the beeping will not stop.
I will call him to check the drive oil.
All other guages seem to be in the desired areas as far as temp and oill pressure.

with my boat it would be drive oil or depth finder

I have had the same problem w/ my 525 (24' schiada).....
all fluids/gauges are fine......
determined it is caused by trimming the boat while on plane. Either by drive or k-planes(both in my case)...fluid is shifted within it's reservoir making the computer think there is low fluids..hence... the beeping

In the owners manual it will tell you what conditions will make the alarm go off. I believe it is the same reasons listed in the 496HO manual. If I wasn't so lazy I would get up out of my chair right now and walk over to the other side of the room and get it.... but damn.... I'm comfortable at the moment. :D
