How are they? I havent heard to much about the rigging...there priced right for what they are...I was looking at this beast...older models go for a bit less..this one is going for $70,000.00 and hits 100mph+ :220v:

Isn't that Reaper1's boat?
I personally like the bottom on those boats...a good compromise between speed and handling.

Lets just say that they've gone through a couple owners over the past few years. The words "jailtime" and "fraud" are never good in the boat business...
As for the boats themselves, I believe they used the old Talon bottoms (very proven hull)...with no issues on the boats themselves.

I tested one of the deck boats last year; basically an exact copy of a Conquest layout. No problems with the boat, it just they weren't too easy to deal with. For example, no paint in gel - had to go with decals. Only white; Built in Texas. I've seen a couple of them at Havasu -both for sale...

I would buy it in a heartbeat. Nice boat. Here's a pic of mine I sold last summer because I'm going offshore V. I've not been in a better riding, handling cat yet for it's size. As for company issues, thier selling as many deck boats now as they sold 2600's a few years ago. The trend is that way I guess. Mine had 700hp and went a little over 100mph in middle of summer. I tell you if I was buying a cat I would be all over that boat.

Had a friend with one. Heavy boat. Single mill. Rode great. 78 mph OTD. Procharged was a mid 80`s run. Bang for buck I think they are great. Especially for the visual. But I`d rather have a V bottom in that price range and speed.

AO had many problems the last few years, of which I have personal knowledge but wont get into. If this is an older AO, say 4 years or more you probably will get a boat built by older owners. As previous stated here yes jail fraud are high on the list. Mine had many gel problems lousy rigging spare old parts thrown in and 1/2 the stuff never worked and no recourse.
Like I said if an older AO its probably a good one, i see its not an nsx. They are a fast boat, light layup, check the gel and bonding real close. fasterdamits is an older AO, when they were made right. good luck. just my .02, but been there done that, not pretty dealing with them in Texas.
Id never own another, theres a howard cat somewhere on here thats 10x the boat the AO is. you get what you pay for

Just loooked at pics. Says its a 2004, right in the end of all the shit that was going on. I WOULD NOT TOUCH THAT BOAT.
HH the AO bottom on the 26 is exactly the same as the howard 26 cat. they are a splash, actually I believe Howard copied it from the older AO, which came as you say from Talon and The old Chris Craft cats. AO was one hell of a ride in the early 90's. they were the big dog in that size boagt but have taken a major dive. I would stay away from them and stick with a proven, elim, howard, force, carrera. there are way to many nice used boats around . Good Luck, like I said just my .02. fasterdammits was a nice boat, but 1997 aint 2005. forget that article, christ , its 8 years old and I think 3 owners later. If you have to deal with Ed or NIck, hide your wallet and run.

The AO that you're looking at belongs to DrewDowns here on the boards. Although AO as a company has its issues and I personally would not by a boat from the current owner of the company Drew's AO is beautiful. He has taken excellent care of it and it just cracks 100mph with a 500efi/Vortec package. I have personally ridden in this boat and it performs very well both handling and performance. This boat is a great buy for someone looking for a 100mph, low hours, really clean cat.

I woould just like to add that I am in no way degrading any particular AO notalent or the owner of the boat your refering to. it may be a great boat as some AO,s were. I have a lot of very bad experience with AO, and could not be happier with the quality looks or performance of my howard. Good luck in what ever you decide.

This is my brothers boat (Drew Down) here on the boards. It is probably the cleanest AO you will find at Havasu. I will be out this weekend and I'm sure my brother wouldn't mind me showing it to anybody interested. If it doesn't sell he is going to keep it becasue he loves it. :supp:

I just bought an 1999 26nsx. I too, have never heard much of them before. But, I have learned that the co. has had problems. I also learned that they won the best hull design in 2000 (or could be '01) from Powerboat mag. You can find the article by searching for it on google. I must say, I couldnt believe the way this boat handled chop. I have never road in a more smoother cat - in its same class. That alone almost sold me on the boat.
I would post some pics but I cant figure out how to do it. New guy.

It wasnt a very pleasant experiance purchasing my boat but the quality was great. I gave him a deposit to build my boat and wouldnt have gone through with the purchase if he delivered me a pieace of shit. If you cant tell your buying a shit box from the begining, that's too bad. However there were a hand full of junk boats sold but mine was not on that list. I wouldnt buy junk.
All the boats listed above are great boats including Howard and anyone looking to purchase a boat should check them all out.
Notalent, if you want to check out my boat, give me a call anytime, it speaks for itself and it is hard to find a clean one.

Well Id agree with that Reaper(if it doesnt sell hes going to keep it, its the because he loves it that lost me) :rollside: :rollside: I have talked to him when we were going thru the nasties with AO. He must have gotten the last good one, before the chit hit the fan over there. I will admit mine was fast and flighty.
