Here's a progress pic of the new truck. About 1/2 way done now. Big thanks to Jason and the guys at Rancho Motorsports for all the work on the truck so far.
Next week it goes into the fabricators' for the new shock hoops and King 2.5" shocks. Door handles are on order and I have to put the billet grille and emblem on this weekend. Slowly but surely.

Let me know how the billet grill install goes. I want to do mine, but don't know how much cutting is involved, and how hard it is. Also post pics, and let me what brand grill it is.
Thanks,
Rick

I did mine. It was not that bad. To taking the grill assy out was the easy part. You have to cut out all that honey comb stuff all the way out & just leave the outer edge for a border.
Be careful what kind you get. Mine is billet aluminum with the face exposed, and the top & bottom of each fin were covered in like a plastic. I believe the whole thing was dipped in plastic, then they grind off the front face of it to expose the aluminum. Well the plastic is starting to peel off the top & bottm after about one year and it needs to be replaced.

Thaks again guys, secong round of mods starts this week. As far as the grille goes, I'll post some pics. I think I may just do the bolt-over style....... :yuk: I know but I don't know if you can even notice the difference. I did the cut-out lat time and compared that to my buddy's bolt-over and it looked the same until you got up real close.
I really like the Carriage Works grilles, and the T-rex isn't bad either.
Thanks again and I'll post more pics as I get closer to being done.

I See Ur Exhaust Dumps Right Over The Pumkin, Is That The Normal Banks Spot Or Just A Lil Bit Of Customization On Ur Part????? How About Gibson Stuff For A D-max????? I Know They Make Bitchen Stuff For Gas Applications Just Haven't Heard Anything About The D-max????

The exhaust tip location is custom to avoid the shocks. The stock banks kit exit in the same location as stock. I have heard good things about Gibson kit just haven't seen it. The consensus I got was MBRP was the best all around for the LLY DMax, best bang for the buck. I went with the Banks just because I got a really good deal.

Sorry, it's a Trenz, Cut out style. I think you could do both the bolt-over or cutout with it but it was a 1/2 project and it looks better with the stock grille cut-out behind it. Jason (Rancho motorsports) hooked my up with the grille and the chrome bowtie.
Riverbound is the signature better? I need to work on my Photochop abilities. :D

Did you install the grill yourself? If so, does the honeycomb insert have plastic rivets you cut off to remove it, or do you have to cut out each web?
Thanks

I did the install myself. Had to cut out the honey comb at the first X so it left a small ring of the honey comb(like 1/8" or so) around the edge to hold the billet grille in place. Does that make sense? Then there are some U shaped clips that go on behind the grille and pull the billet grille back against the left over honey comb. I used a die grinder with a cutoff wheel and made quick work of it. It looks pretty clean from the front and you cant see the little ledge/left over honeycomb. If it doesn't make sense I'll see if I can get a picture.

Looks good Sigepmock. My little bro is a Sig Ep from Cal Poly Pomona. I'll have to have him show me the secret handshake and challenge. :D
I just picked up my '05 3500 LT Diesel 4x4 (Silver Birch color) on my way back from Havasu on Tuesday. These aftermarket parts are addicting. I just ordered my SnugTop SL cover today and will get the spray-on lining done in a week or so.
What's the going rate on that billet grille and bow tie? Looks great! I'll be looking at the Amp Research Steps next.

What's his name? I'm a Cal Poly Grad too. Alpha Sigma Class. Tell him HFF(more secret stuff) for me.
I think I paid $130 for the grille and $30 for the bowtie but I'll have to check.
I lied about the grille earlier :yuk: It's actually a "Precision Grille", not a Trenz.

So far they are pretty quiet, especially for a mud terrain, only have about 2000 miles on them. A ton quiter than Pro Crap X terrains, slightly quieter than BFG M/T's. My buddy has the Toyo All Terrains and they are a lot quieter and still look pretty aggressive. Might go that route when these are done.
