was at ????? shop over the weekend....a VW bug (new one...turbo) was in there for a "check engine light".
He hooked up the scan...read the snap shot of the engine parameters....it read: 158mph...10,500rpm!!!!!!!!
A 18 year old chick owned it!
I said, "No f%$#@ way that bug could go that fast". But he said, "so why does the scan tool say so?"
Scary....must have taken a long time to climb from 120mph to 158.

WTF.... this is a joke right???? How funny would that be for a VW bug to come flying by at 158 mph.. Must be some kind of false DTC's

"This combination propels the Turbo S to 60 mph in 7.4 seconds and to a top speed (computer-controlled) of 130 mph."

If the engine is chipped it removes the top speed limiter. She could have had a bigger turbo, exhaust etc on the car. Than it might be able to do that but I'd still say that a negative.

A wrenching buddy of mine is the one that witnessed it and he even said BS. It was in a shop in the 909 area. Maybe that is why the MIL light was on cause it has a few sensing problems. I guess anything is possible but taking a few things into consideration.
1. That motor can't handle 10,500 rpm
2. If the motor is turning @10,500 rpm then the turbo is spinning around 300,000 rpm. :2purples:
3. What about the pop off valve :frown:
4. Computer limited
I say no way, in stock form

I know its the internet and if I'm offended yer joking, But Totenhosen your sig is a bit over the top, using dead people is a line that not easily crossed. :jawdrop:
But not to stay off topic, that bug had better have had some suspension/body mods to hit 158 or it would have blown off the road.

you can take out the rev limiter and the governer on about anything as long as you can figure out a way to run the motor w/out them and no wonder why the check engine light was on she was running at over 10,000 rpms!
