I'm thinking of buying a home in Lake Havasu, but i don't want to take my boat out of the water every night. Slips are almost impossible to get. What do all the home owners due. Any sugestions would be appreciated.

I dont own a home out there, have friends that do. In all honesty its not that big of a deal, plus you can clean up after the end of the day.

I take mine out everynight. Not that big of a deal to me. And I avaoid the holidays so I don't have to fight the launch lines.

Pull it out who knows what can happen at night even if you had a slip. Is Barney going to watch your boat all night in a slip.

We own a home and take our boat out everyafternoon. It is no big deal except for the people hanging to close to the trailer area. It takes us less than 15 minutes to get the truck and put the boat on the trailer.

A. I have a house for sale that might interest you
B. Most pull out each day, no biggie except on holidays
C. You CAN get some monthly slip rentals for the summer months if you book early

In Mohave I have a permanent slip. Took me 3.5 years to get it. I heard that the wait now is about 6 years :(
I would not want to deal with the launch ramp twice a day. F THAT!
For sure, not at that place !! :jawdrop: :D

If you know what your doing it's NOT a big
deal.
When you live 4 miles from the lake, and that is
your biggest concern, then life is GOOD.
On regular weekens, it may take up to 15 min.
but that is rare.

The problem is,say the wife or 1 of the kids only want to out for a 1/2 day, it's no problem if I have a lake front hotel,I could drop them off and go back out. Also it a pain when you can't launch from the marina (because of noise).

I think putting it in and taking out every day sux...put it in on Friday afternoon, take it out on Sunday afternoon....left in dock all weekend, and clean once at the end of the weekend......For everyday 1 day I DAY boat on the lake, I boat 6 days on the river... It's not bad every once in a while, but weekend after weekend, I would get tired of it.
Try Havasu Springs...they have slips

Don't you guys have boat lifts on Havasu? I put my jet in and pull it out once a year. My outboard hasn't been on the trailer in probably 6 years, I even moved to a new house during that time and I took it via lake to the new house.

I have a home in Havasu and don't mind taking out my boat at all. After just 1 day the water takes its toll on the hull, also I just don't trust it at the slips.
Just my .02

Take a look at some of the RV parks on the lake. A few have mobile homes you can buy. You can leave the boat in the water or a beach, hop in the golf cart & be at your place in just a minute.
May not be the best investment as far as money goes, but it can be a great investment for having a good vacation.

buy INSMANS house so he will start another summit home :D
my boat is driping dry right now, 1.5 mi off site six 0 wait tonight at Site Six, if you buy a home most likely you will end up on the early shift on the weekends like 7-3 then home to clean up and hit dinner, so the 10-15 min line at Windsor will be no problem

Put in and take out daily. Thats part of the dealio with having a house, clean safe place to park the boat, time to clean it up. Once you have the house you will be spending more time at the lake. The more time you spend at the lake the less you worry about having to get on the lake. It just seems to work out that way. :D
