Sorry to hear of the boat problems--it was a great time. I actually didn't take one pic, but I know many did. Hopefully we'll see them on the boards shortly...plus www.jokerswildpromotions.com should have them up within the next day or so. Everyone seemed to have a great time--great to meet all of the Howard board members. I'm not sure what the total boat count was--but I think I counted around 50 from the aerial shot in the cove. I know I've never seen so many Howards in one place :)
Oh yeah, I love this Poker Run thing...well since I ended up with 4 Queens and an Ace (good enough for Second) :D

Had some good times.........................Met some good people too, Put another 22 hours on the boat, and had 322 miles on the GPS tripmeter in the boat since Wednesday. Thats alot of trips from Topoc to Havasu Springs, but we had fun doing it. Just got back.

Looks like a good time..nice boats. :D
Maybe it is just me....but don't all these regatta's look the same.....:
Meet somewhere early..do the sign up and rules...
Go over to the same cove...take heli pics.
Go over to the same cove to do the running pics from Heli...
Start the Poker Run....
Go through the bridge - sort of parade..
Dinner..
I understand one promo group is doing most of them for the manufactures, but maybe they should switch it up a bit....seems like the same thing week after week, just change the boat makers...
Unofficial regatta's and get together's seemed to be much more fun...

I saw a lot of familiar boats from the forums, and a lot of people were waiving and saying hi to us. It was so damn crowded it was hard to stop in that channel. We did have a few people grab the side of the boat and pull us into a "double parked" position for a few minutes so we could hang out, and the rangers made us move almost immediately. I have never been to Havasu on the weekend. It heard someone say, " the water out there is like a washing machine", that was an understatement. That place gets busy!

Don't get me wrong...I am sure it was a blast...I too have been to only one and have watched a couple of others from the water. I am glad Howard had one (since you guys had been pushing them for a while); it must have been a pleasure to see all their nice boats in one place... :D

Thanks,
We went up to the springs again this morning about 7:30AM...............It was like glass all the way, as soon as we were able to see those big white tubes coming down the hill, we had to open up the throttle across that area, we were locked in at 107.4 all the way across that big part of the lake...........That was all I had in my grab bag.........It was damn fun, and the other side of the lake came up quick! Thats got to be a mile or so through there I would think? We went way up to Moabe in the evening last night too, and there are some pretty cool places to open up the throttle up that way also. I am really bummed the w/e is over. A lot of nice boats out there!

For me, It was the only one I have ever been too, so it was all new to me.
That was my first regatta too, but we all sure had a great time. My only complaint was that we had to break my "no one wears a watch at the River" rule in order to be on time for the events. That being said, when you can usually count the numebr of Howards on 2 fingers on a "big" weekend, it was worth it to see 58!!! :D What really blew me away is seeing that most all of the boats had at least an HP525 and there sure was a lot of representation from Taylor, Teague and Pfaff. Most of us had to hold it back so we didn't lose the helicopter for the running photos.
Good times!

Another benefit to the Howard regatta was I finally got to meet Dr. Marg & roln20s. These are 2 great guys! Not only did they donate "Bling" for the raffle, they took the time to go over the product in detail with the winners. The stereo in the Dr.s boat was unreal! One might think I'm sucking up a bit, but I can't even use "Bling" on my motor. I just felt these guys deserve some props for a great American product made by REAL enthusiasts.
Any thought of making blower belt guards, guys???
Great to finally meet you!

I was out there this last weekend and as I was leaving the no wake zone starting south toward copper canyon,I saw GT and a few other Howards coming back from the poker run. I stopped in Steamboat and spoke with a guy from seal beach in a 22' offshore and he said that the Bulletts were well represented but the 22's and smaller were few.

Definately a few Bullets...................We had such a good time, We are headed to Havasu again RIGHT NOW! The stripers were jumpin on our last morning out there, so we are going back for them with all of the fishing gear, including the orange bass boat! We will be there until Sat, probably on the water with anchovies in place by 7:00AM thurs and Fri!
I heard there will be another regatta next year.

My 25 did alright but the water was pretty rough. Typical criss-cross swells from the bridge to Havasu Palms on Saturday. On Friday a group of us went to Springs through white-caps and the boat was smooth as glass 60-65 the whole way. On Saturday, the same speed would occasionally spill my beverage, but the people in the open bow didn't complain. They were used to our old Chaparral and commented on how smooth the Bullet was. We definitely got beat up on Saturday compared to Friday and Sunday, but I think it was true for anybody. Most other boats couldn't hang in the middle on Saturday and putted along the edges from what I saw.

Thanks for coming to the Regatta, It seemed that everyone had a good time. I just wish I could have had the time to launch my Howard (26’ Cat “OneTime”) on Saturday.
The pictures are on the web site www.jokerswildpromotions.com I hope I got some good ones of most of those who showed up. It was a bumpy ride up there for me, I actually lost my breakfast once hope no one was below us.
Someone was saying that all of the Regattas seem the same and he is correct. We’ve been doing this for a while and we found what makes the most people (families) happy so we stick with it. I bought JWP because I went to a Regatta in 1998 and thought I could do it better, If you have any suggestions on how or what we could do to make the Regattas better please let me know Todd@411Havasu.com .

Todd,
Great job on the Howard Regatta! It went very smoothly. The only suggestion would be to have the boat parade on the way to the group photo shoot. That way those of us that wish to leave a little early from the beach to get ready for the night's festivities can do so. As it was, we did the parade and immediately went around the island and into the marina and loaded the boat on the trailer. From there back to the house on the south end of town - showers and change we just made it back to the dinner when it was starting to be served. We missed the cocktail hour and we weren't "piddlin' around". No biggie - just a suggestion so that folks who do want to leave a little earlier can. We had a great time as it was and I probably saved my liver from the abuse it might have taken had we gotten to the cocktail hour! :D

We just got home from Havasu and what a great time the Regatta was. I mean winning all the stuff at the raffle helped a little bit but we met some really cool people and Todd did a great job making a lasting impression on Gene and Mike. The MC was really good and got the owners involved. The whole event makes me want to go into debt buying that deck boat. Thanks everyone. Nick

I had a feeling if I made a quote like this someone would bite on it. Sorry for the delay, I just read it. The 25-28 Bullets do handle the rough stuff. In fact, In a consistant 25 mph wind with huge rollers and white caps, I would be surprised if there is a better handling high speed(above 85 mph)single engine V. But at Havasu on Saturday(Regatta) there were oddball sized swells coming from every direction, and people going all over the lake. This was my first time at Havasu on a Saturday..................wow, a lot of people really like that place. I am certain all of the Howard Owners had a great time. Todd, I have your NEW TPI shirts, they will go out this week. Thanks for everything Todd, and thanks to all that are supporting my new business venture.

No, we had our kids with us and it was pretty choppy for our little boat. We did the photo shoots and then picked up some other people and then met back at Rotary beach for the parade through the channel and went home to get cleaned up for the dinner and raffle. It was a really good time Jeff. You should go next year and check it out. The wrist band you wore had the raffle number on it and then they just read off the winners by the wrist band numbers. Next year we will get bands for the baby too. Nick
