Yeah they kicked ass. Travis skied over (even with sitting on the sundeck when the flare for the start went off, they were still 32 to the island), then a skier change after making the turn and Pat Frasca skied back with Alex Kahn observering both ways. It was a drag race style finish for them as there was another entering the Queensway Bay at the same time. They started to pass Pat just coming through the break water untill he noticed them coming up on the inside, then he gave ups and the race was on. Even on the outside Pat and the crew started to pull away from the other boat with about a 1/2 a rope length ahead at the finish line.
Riverkid and his race posse had the same style start and they also kicked ass! Racing in the double up class (2 skier all the way there and back) they secured top honors in the class, dispite losing a skier 3 time during the trip.
Great job to everyone!!!!!!!

Cool. I figured that was probably you. There were only about 5,000 helicopters flying around out there, especially when Todd came in. There were 10 behind him alone. :D :D :D

Yeah, it was a mad house in the air waiting for the start. Had to spend more time looking for other helis then looking at the boats. But once the race started things thinned out, it was fun to see the race from that vantage point. We pulled up on Todd about 10 miles from the turn and he was haulin' a$$! He was going 65+.

I ended up bailing out at the last minute....and went down to the LB....I could not resist a Jordy sighting..hahaha.. Good thing..my girlfriend ended up driving back from Vegas on Saterday because she had a miserable time! She drove straight to LB to hang with us!!! Always follow your gut!!! :wink:

Good times this weekend...cold beer cool people and some pretty good racing...after Todd finished that is...what a total shellacking he gave everyone.
It was cool meeting everyone and seeing others again.

And what actually happened was a shaft broke that runs thefuel injection pump.

As much fun as it was watching the races from the queen mary, the Races in Parker are much more impressive.
I know that the guys were running 80+ across the line, and the speed sensation just wasn't there. In Parker they are so close you can hear the Ski scream by :devil:
The big boat start was Damned impressive though :sqeyes: Nothing like ten thousand plus HP to wake you up in the morning :D

Then Patrick stepped up this year. Mike can ski. We all know Jimmy can drive, and that Sunsation runs. All I know is that frigging REB939 beat me in again this year in the 777 boat. Can't seem to beat that homo. They were haulin ass when we passed them three times! Only boat number I ever saw clear with all that was going on was that boat getting by us when we had the third spill. Doh!

One of our guys was pretty hot about still being on the boat when they shot the flares, so he was all fired up to get some position back and we were one of the last boats out. We hit all the junk water and when he'd start to get out of shape I'd slow the boat down and he would want it back up - pronto. He burned his legs up early playing chase in the junk and wanted to run on the edge the whole way. He paid for his ticket out, so we pulled him at his pace. Just too tired at the end. I'll give it to them, both guys were studs. They survived!

A tad chilly? I'm from Phoenix where it's 100 degrees at 10:30 at night. I was freezing my balls off out on the ocean, especially when the sun was covered by the marine layer. We stopped off at a local lake on the way home to blow all the salt out of the engines and it was nice to be able to get in the water and to boat in something other than a hoody sweatshirt and long sleeve shirts. :D :D :D
