CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - The first space shuttle mission in more than two years was postponed less than three hours before its scheduled launch Wednesday when NASA encountered a problem with one of the external fuel tank's low-level sensors.
No new launch date was set, but deputy shuttle program manager Wayne Hale told a news conference that "we would not in any conceivable way be ready to launch before Saturday." Earlier, NASA Administrator Mike Griffin had told visiting congressional members that the next launch attempt could not take place until Monday at the earliest

Guess its best to be overly careful, they have alot riding on this next one, not just the astronauts.

I agree. The Shuttle technology is 20+ years old. They have to of came up with better stuff over the last 20 years.

I love that part in "Armageton",
"we are sitting on 10,000 lbs of rocket fuel, 86,000 moving parts, built by the lowest bidder"
Quote not exact but you get the idea. :coffeycup

My company builds the Solid Rocket Boosters so I would be happy to see it fly. :D :D
As far as technology nobody is willing to pay for it, NASA keeps getting there budget cut and the American people are not willing to pay for it. :frown:
People scream when you lose a shuttle but crash a plane or a few trains and its business as usual. The Astronauts no the risks and are willing to take it.

What does the shuttle accomplish by flying around in orbit or what ever they have it do? Takes pics and what?
