Well, I "pulled the trigger!!" Thanks to all who helped me chose the right boat for my family and I. I did most of my research on these forums, it's a great resource for boat "rookies" such as myself. This is my first boat, and I cant wait to take it to Havasu for the first time!! Thanks again to all!!

My first trip will be the 31st. My friend has a house out there so it makes it convenient...we dont have to pay for a hotel room! Im counting down the days like my son does till Christmas. :) :)

Congrats.....Nice choice!! Is that the Lavey that was in the boattrader? If so the guy had every option avail. on that boat. You will be very satisfied and just be carefull since this is your first. That boat (24 Nu Era) with the 496HO should run 70-75 no prob. Enjoy!!

Congrats! That could very well be your first and last boat as Lavey has an excellent reputation in the industry. That boat should keep you happy for a long time, and if and when you do go to sell it, it will hold it's value well.
Congrats again.

Lavey makes a great boat. The only thing I would recommend, since this is your first boat, get plenty of seat time before you start doing anything crazy in it. That boat is a step-hull and from what I understand, having never driven a step-hull, they are different than a straight deep-vee. Other than that, enjoy the hell out of it and make lots of memories!

congrats!!!!!! and a great nice choice, that will last you a very long time,
and when the bug hits to build a Havasu House to store it, just PM me. I can get HB'rs up to a 3% discount.

Nice choice.
what are the details?
The pics really dont do it justice...the boat is flawless!! The owner (original) has a couple other boats and said he never had time to drive this one. He put every option available on it, even some custom mods. Since it is my first boat, I do plan to take it easy at first. I have several friends that have been boating their whole lives and offered to take me out for a little one-on-one training. Here are the specs:
2002 24' Laveycraft NuEra
60 hours on engine
496 mag HO
External steering
Teague captains call exhaust
SS drive shower
Dana trim tabs w/ mechanical indicator
Custom tilt wheel
Halon fire exting system
Dual batteries
Custom tonneau covers
Custom Sony stereo, 6 speakers, 2 Amps, two subs, CD changer
Foot showers at the bow and transom
Locking storage area
Locking ski locker
Mirror on engine hatch...etc.

Yep, thats the one. The owner told me he's done mid 70's in it. :2purples: I've got too much to lose, and nothing to prove, I'll be extra careful until I get the feel for it.

if you can i would suggest going out during a weekday, the lake is less crowded and the ramps are much easier to deal with. :)

I like the cuddy, but im 6'8" so it wouldn't be practical for me when I would have to crawl on my hands and knees through the mid-cabin.
