The same thing happened to me when I went to a liquor store to buy more drinks and take them back to our friends house, thier 18yr old daughter came with me and walked in to buy some Skittles candy and was standing behind me to buy her candy, but because I was talking to her, the clerk asked us both for I.D. and I explained what I was buying and she explained what she was buying, but the clerk said no way and took the alcohol off the counter and put it behind the counter. She was pretty rude too.
I think it's just the way AZ handles it out here.

We had that happen and we had a group of five kids, they would not let us purchase, also I tried to hand the money to hubby and they said I could not do that.

Colorado does the same. I had my brother with me once (he was 20 at the time), and I stopped in to pick up a 12'er. They gave me a bunch of heat for him not showing his ID while I bought the beer. Fine. We walked outside. I walked back inside, alone, walked back to the cooler, picked up the beer and walked up to the counter. The gal gave me even more grief, claimed I had a a fake ID, was going to confiscate it, call the cops, ect... but finally sold me the brew. It was actually kind of funny.

I was at Bashas's at the ZOO a couple of weeks ago and they would not accept a CA DL from this guy. I was like WTF? Then I thought anyone can get a CA DL :confused: Even terrorist and illegals.
One of the grocery stores in San Diego was not accepting Military ID for awhile....then they put them on Turko Files on Channel 9. I think it was Ralphs. That shit went away quick. Turko Files is one of those trouble shooter news guys that goes around and checks out all the F'ed up businesses in San Diego and puts them on the news.
There was a good one on Turko Files about the city parking enforcement a while back. The construction guys working downtown would park their cars in a legal parking area and the city would come along that day and paint the curb red then immediatly they would get a ticket. The guys wrote letters to the city and the city said tough shit. So these guys took them to Turko Files. LOL. That shit got fixed in a hurry. Private companies or governments don't like getting a bad rep on the news.

Couple months ago I was carded. When I thanked her she got all red in the face and decided that she realy didn't need to. With out looking at my ID she told me it was OK an that I could put my ID away. I payed and walked on.
