Had that happen to a C-182 I was flying,,, spooky,,, not to mention hard on the radios....

Nope just hard on the structure mechanics that have to blend and patch the thousands of "static discharge" places on the skin.

It toasted the transponder, annunciator panel and toasted a couple of breakers. Luckily the radios were the old KX170's,,, pretty bulletproof...
