It's a long story, but it appears there is a Sea Doo jet boat in my future.
I found a few used ones in the boat trader, but thought someone from the boards might know of one for sale. Preferably something called a Speedster (14ft)

You are going from a Daytona to a see-do boat? Seems like if you were downsizing, you could get a nice older boat for the same price.
. . . or are you keeping the daytona?

Not replacing anything............ But my kids are getting older (4 and 8) and they want to tube, wakeboard, fish, etc. My wife and I test drove a deck boat and we both agreed we need to keep the Daytona. So we agreed to buy a POS jet boat to satisfy the kids needs.........

My first boat was a Challenger 2000. I would love to own another one if I had the $$$$. It was one of the funnest boats that I have owned so far. Awesome for skiing and wake boarding. Good Luck!

I've been in one of those boats and lets just say that in a little chop it almost knocked my kiddnies out. My brother in law just sold his, there not real cheap I think that he sold his for about 11K.

Once again......... Just what I wanted to hear.
This has been an agonizing decision... Sell the Daytona, don't sell the Daytona, buy a deck boat, don't buy a deckboat, buy a pontoon, don't buy a potoon, sell everything and go hiking, etc.... This Sea Doo jet boat thing just seems to be a great idea. Take the kids tubing in the morning, take the Daytona out during the day.

Personally I'd find an old late 70's Big Block jet drive to tow the kiddies with. Wait a min, I own an old late 70's Big Block jet drive to tow the kiddies with. Easily had for about 1/3 the price. :D

I bought a new one in 95 and ran it hard..( you know how we do it...?) for three years ....They are a blast to drive ....very dependable and fun...they are NOT fun however, in anything less than the smallest chop...anything more will rattle your fillings loose...and the front seat is useless unless the boat is stopped....I got a 97 now that got tossed around in a Hurricane ...and needs restoration...one of these days...you will have fun...
