I have a question about erratic heater fan speeds on an '02 E55 AMG. Thanks.

It should be under warranty if it's an 02. I'm willing to bet it's something to do with the electronics in the ac/heat thingamabob in the middle dash. Then again, the ultra cool E55 might be different than a lowly E320. :shift:
Have you had it to a dealer yet?

Nice car by the way....ahhh, E55 AMG.
Saving my nickels and dimes in and hopefully in a few years I'll get one of those 500HP, Corvette killing monsters!

Fan speeds were erratic, only worked at slower speeds. Display working OK. Figured it was a blower speed controller(Benz calls it a regulator). Turns out it is a common problem, found directions and location of part to replace. BTW this in not my car, but I wish it was!

I wonder if it's a common problem on S430s too. My blower seems somewhat erratic too.
According to thread, part is about $175, unless it's an older model. Then you have to modify a different part.
Symptom on this car was LCD display reads properly, but fan speed varies by itself, and no high speed. It appears they have problems with other models as well.
