I have an Umbrella cockatoo that my wife and I have had since a BABY (hand fed), My wife is sick and not able to take care of her any longer. I hate to have to do this but is there anyone out there that might like to adopt a pet bird? She is a good bird but needs ALOT of attention, someone that can sepnd time with her just sittin around and preening her feathers, talkin to her she loves to dance to music? I would feel good if someone here were to come and take a look at her and see if she likes you too, this bird is one that lives for about 60 years, she is only about 7 years old, I know this is not the place to be asking this but I have seen other folks here trying to find homes for their dogs and cats.

Is it one of those folding umbrella Cockatoos ? :D
We jsut got rid of a yellow head after 22 years. Always good to find someone who really wants it vs someone who just sees the $ part of it.
Good luck.

You've got to remember one thing with these birds......
they live for 50 - 60 years, I would not be looking for a new family for her if my wife was not feelin bad......she was born in 1997, many years left for her, so she is just a baby still..
My neice would love to have her but she lives in minnesota, which is to far for her to travel.
We may have a home for her, some one coming out to meet her friday, so we will see IF they like eachother, this is more of an adoption then just a bird....

good luck to you.. hope you find a new home for her. if my kids weren't so young i would have been on my way up there already.. changing homes will be stressful enough on her.. much less meeting 4 kids who would be all wound up when she gets there. i have had birds of one sort or another since i was little and i miss having one around.
