Have a 2000 21' closed bow 454 mag mpi. the boat runs great you can feel it come up on the pad when you trim it right and it speeds up on it's own. If your boat does not come w/ tabs get them it makes a world of difference

How much room do you have inside? This is a 96 and he is asking 25k. What do you think?

Mines for sale it's a 2000 and my bottom line # is 31k.
There is more room under the bow than any other 21' on the market

I think i saw yours on HB classifieds. It's pretty sweet. just to much $$ for me right now. How much room do you have in the cockpit area? Isit good enugh for 4 people to sit comfortably?

I've had 5 adults in the cockpit area and 4 kids under the bow w/ no complaints! Kids make for good ballast

That sounds good enough for for me. Why are you selling yours?

Still like the boat..but we are getting more involved in ski racing and a Lavey Craft is not cut out for that kind of work

We had a 1998 21 open bow before the deck and had no problems ever. Bought it for 32K in 1998 and sold it for 32K in March this year.

I had the 21 xcs open/cuddy that was in the Hot Boat Aug. 2003 issue. Never had a problem, great boat. Just sold it this year and stepped up to the 2750 with a 525 EFI. You won't go wrong with Lavey!

We had an 04 21XCS. We replaced it for no reason other than to go bigger. Tasted the salt once and wanted to go again! The cuddy is big enough to get under for kids and adults. The only hard thing was for me climbing under to the bow seating. I'm 6'1 and 275 so you see how that went! We had the 6.2 in ours and best we saw was 61 almost 62. And we replaced it with another Lavey, an 05 26 NuEra. You will not go wrong with a Laveycraft. Feels safe with the kids and quality is top notch. Good luck with your decision.

I think this is your boat?... If so, it looks nice. It has almost 300 hours and it is end of season. I am guessing you can do something on the price...Good luck...Also doubt it does 70.

That's the one. I have a bunch more pics. What do you think would be a good price to offer for this boat?

NADA says $15,300 is retail...they are always way low and in this case I think way way low.
I would reference that figure to him but not hesitate to go very low 20's. It's been in there for a while, it s a 21', 300 hours, closed bow, end of season and he has must sell in CAPS then an OBO. I wouldn't insult the guy but it seems he does really want to sell it. I would do a pre-buy inspect too

How do I do that from Utah.. I will only have time to drive out there once. It makes it kind of hard..

I know how hard it is to buy something out of state. If you want, make a deal with the guy and set a price that you can agree with. If you want, once that is done let him know you have a buddy that lives in Riverside (that be me ) and have him meet me at Lake Perris which should take him about 40 minutes to get there from his house...If he has a big problem with that distance he can meet me at Puddingstone lake and I will ride with him and go for a test run. I've been in a 21' lavey and they are a great boat. I will take pics or digi video and send you the video to your house and you can decide whether you want it or not. Just let me know. I live in Riverside and I am not too far from either of these lakes.

Bear down is a nice guy... here is what I highly recommend.......
Agree on a price and that you will buy it contingent on it passing a pre-buy inspection by a Auth Mercruiser dealer. Locate a reputable Merc dealer nearby and prearrange with the dealer to do a pre-buy (usually less than $200). They should check compression, inspect inside of the drive, do a visual of controls and hull and overview the trailer. They can also put it on the computer to look for engine error codes and get a real hour usage on the engine.
You do the arranging with the dealer and pay over the phone. All he does is drop it off. Then you do all the interface with the dealer on the results in writing and let him know the results. With 300 hours you could be in for anything. Remember a new outdrive could run you $4K. If he won't do it then I would walk. ;)

:220v: That's the right thing to do. Butt it sucks a$$ because my family owns a dealership here in UT and we could do all that for free (if it was here) butt it's not so i might have to fork out some extra cash... :220v:

$200 is not bad for peace of mind. We had a 21 xcs back in 98 with an hp500. Very fast boat, ran in the low 80's. We upgraded to the 2750 and couldn't be happier with Lavey. One of the best boats out there and Chris and Jeff really know how to keep a customer.

if Bear Down can't be around for it, I'm sure several of us would be willing to meet the seller, look at and ride in the boat for you
