Miners cove, near the dam, is cool. You might want to launch at Cottonwood and explore the north end of the lake.

North end sucks...VERY crowded, lots of polution, 1000's of jet skis, gang bangers and trailer trash. Not worth the drive up to Cottonwood.
Ya thats it the North end sucks, yeah yeah it sucks. Don't go to the north end.  :D

Just explore. you will find great coves everywhere at that place. I can't give you specifics because I know by sight but theres a bitchin huge one with a nice sandy beach on the Nevada side somewhere around the power lines. Also theres a big one with a couple beach areas and a pretty cool rock to jump off of on the arizona side just before the basin. What I'd like to know is where are the beaches in Havasu besides upriver or in the freaking nasty a$$ channel.

Somebody a while back posted a map that showed all the coves with names on it. I can't seem to find it on the web. Any help?
We were up past Cottonwood all the way to the dam last week and there weren't any beaches, the water was to the high water mark. Made finding a beach to relax at somewhat difficult. Any help on the map?

Go there and go to the boaters map section. There are all the maps you need for Mohave and Mead.

Nope that wasn't the one. It was a black and white map with ALL the coves named with mile marker and geographical references such as power lines ect. I would like to get a copy and laminate it for in the boat

That is the one. hit the page. Under boaters map you want the Katherine Landing one for the south end and the Cottonwood cove one for the north end. I think you hit the wrong section on the page.

If you're going to ski/board, then I suggest going down past the powerlines. The water is usually calmer down there due to the lack of lake lice. You're also still close to gasoline alley for jumping off the rocks. Wherever you decide, don't leave your stuff out. We were there a week ago and someone came along in a boat and stole all of our anchors, shore anchors, chairs, bbqs, fishing poles, etc. The best cove I know of near Mojave is down river about 60 miles and is referred to as "Havasu".

You can buy one in any of the marinas on the lake. I think they are $4-$5 and are water resistant. They show all the coves and depths of the water. Did you decide where to launch out of yet?
