I'm debating on whether to purchase a 2001 Ultra 247 BRC for Nada low retail now or if I should hold off and see if I can get a better deal this winter. I've only got 3 more trips lined up which is kind of making me second think buying it right now. People talk about buying in winter but I want to know how much people can actually save. I can wait it out if there's a chance I can save like 3 grand or more, but if that's unrealistic, I would just assume to buy it now. Low Retail is 38.7 Avg Retail is 45.8. Can you guys shed any light on this?
BTW - this site rocks. I've learned alot from browsing all the posts. :D

I think thats a good deal. Usually custom boats are higher in price than the nada has them listed.
My boat was undervalued by over 15K.

Beever,
what motor and drive package? If it is a 454 mag or higher then that is a smoking price. Either way, it is still a great deal. BTW, that boat new from Ultra last year was 65K with a 496HO just to give you an idea.

Get me the I.D. numbers on it and I'll let you know any history we have on the boat. Sounds like a great deal if they'll let it go that cheap.

Here today, gone tomorrow...if you like it now, might as well jump on it. Shiat can happen if you wait...just to save alittle. Just my .02. Good luck. :D

Good deals happen at all times... Best thing is to know when you have one.
If it is in good shape and the real mcCoy then low NADA is a no- brainer.... unless NADA made a mistake.

You're right...I have no idea...I tried to buy a 24' Lavey from a guy in Needles who sold it while I was driving up there to check it out. I was already heading out to Havi anyway, but it was pretty disappointing.

Do exactly this. You want to make sure John built it!

I didn't know John ever made a 247 with a jet?!?!
He does. Here's the link to the yellow ultra 247 with tower one that flashover is referring to:

If this doesn't open for you. Just search ultra 247.

In my opinion, you get good deals on boats when people NEED to sell them. Seasons dont effect when someone runs into a hardship and need to get rid of a payment or pick up some quick cash, so there are good deals all year long.

this boat has been for sale for quite some time on ebay...Everytime I see the pic of that motor...it doesnt look like something John would build...it kinda looks like a gen 4....and rigged sloppy...IMO. :coffeycup I should know about rigged...I think the guy I bought my boat from did a good riggin job... :notam: :D it looks better now though...

I keep an eye out for a DCB 24 Extreme as well. Its the same hull. Ultra acquired the molds from DCB.

Thanks V. I'm gonna check it out this week so I'll make sure to grab the hull id/number and send it to John. Thanks to everyone who's helped me on this.

2D, here's what I've got from the NADA site which my loan co has verified. They told me that they dont include any options/upgrades/addons with the exception to the motor.

That looks like a clean boat but there is a couple problems with it.
1) Goofy looking white roll cage on it. Fock, I hate those things. :yuk:
2) It's a jet. :hammer2:
