Carpet

Wanted to see what you guys thought. As some of you know, I recently purchased an '88 Stoker. Well, I need to replace the worn out carpeting. I called one of the upholstery shops up here in Castaic and he recommends using the 20 oz marine carpet. I asked him about using 40 oz carpet and he is against it. He says he prefers using the 40 oz stuff only in boats that have cabins and such.
What do you guys think?

How long you gonna keep it? mine is 9 years old with 40 oz and it still looks good. If you're gonna use it alot, or keep it longer then 2-5 years go with the 40.

I was leaning more towards the 40 oz as well but wanted to see what you guys thought. I do know Stoker used the 20 oz carpet in the older boats and that the newer ones get the 40 oz.
