Anyone know if an XM antenna cable can be cut and soldered back together without risking loss of signal?
I have the antenna mounted close to my Roady unit and don't need to deal with the antenna cable mess. Not a big deal, but it would look a lot cleaner without the extra wire.
Any input is greatly appreciated.

I'll let Roz confirm this, but I was told by him NOT to cut the antenna lead. I think he has done it, with bad results, and had to replace an antenna.

Been there, done that... Tried it in a customer's car when xm first came out and had no luck. Trying to save money and not wanting to take my wife's car apart (I ran the og wire really well and was trying to avoid what I knew was going to be a pain in the ass), I soldered the a cable after a bodyshop pinched it and had 0 result....I too had to buy a new antenna...
Loop the extra cable behind your dash or headliner....

The problem is not with the antenna wire, you just need a longer boat. :D
