So I'm sitting here at 12:30am in my home office and suddenly hear something clunking against the front door. Startles the heck out of me and the dogs are going crazy. I grab a flashlight and a "home defense" item and go investigate. A turtle apparently decided he wants to drop by for a late night visit. Life in Florida! :)

I've seen a turtle at the lower river near Martinez. It was huge, like the size of a trash can lid.

Turtles for days in the Moabi Channel.
Soft shelled with big ol nasty front claws.
Catchem on anchovies and they are fighters.
Actually they catch themselves, but they are very super skitish so not to worrie while wading and swimming.
I have a pic somewhere, I'll find it & post it.

I've seen several rattlers swimming in the river over the years. They're pretty efficient swimmers too. They can't coil and strike but I'm sure they can still bite yo ass if they're pissed.

Unfortunately for everyone, I am talking about Rattlers, Gopher snakes and others. Snakes are awesome swimmers. I have seen one apparently levitate and get in a low freeboard boat before. The whole front end came up about two feet while the back was swimming and it ducked right into a picklefork.

Isnt that a desert tortuse?
If so, there is a big fine for even touching them!!!
Only know that because i had to take a stupid class about them.If you take one home for a pet, and get caught, you can go to jail.
What a joke :boxed:

Woops...my bad.
Not to worrie, the sound of scuba bubbles or even splashing and they are gone like a shot.
They want about as much to do with you as you do with a tax audit.
