I used to belong to a site that went from free to pay. They did it almost solely to try and keep out trolls. To sign up, you had to have a real email account, no Gmail or Yahoo! accounts, etc, so they could potentially keep out a lot of people that had been banned from the site. But, getting rid of the trolls also got rid of the newbies. The site became very stagnant, just a handful of the same people posting over and over and over about the same things.
I have had my Ip addy banned and you can't get back on, they suffered with 20 + names for me though...........( . )( . ).........Then wacked me big time :cry:
