The funny thing is that at around 3,000RPMs, the boat is probably doing about 80MPH, but feels like it will fall off plane going any slower. It really wakes up around 120 MPH.

That's good because you remember what happened to the last guy that made a post like that and then went out and pushed it a lil more. In case you don't, he's dead now.
Oh, nice saftey gear you guys had on!

In case you didn't notice, that is a 36' Skater...not an HTM. I'd say 149 MPH in that boat is probably like doing 60 MPH in yours (if it was running :D ). By "not pushing it"...you'll also notice that the drives and tabs are tucked...which would be like 60 MPH in your boat with the cav plate all the way down, and the anchor out.
Maybe this winter Dan will want to tee it high (and let it fly) in the good air. If he does...it will probably be helmets and vests (which he has).
I hear Skater says 180MPH is possible...but I'm not an expert, and it's not my boat.

superdave013
09-29-2005, 10:28 AM
Shit happens and you never know when it will. I don't care what boat it is. To many what if's. Might not even be your guys fault (i.e. someone else makes a bad move or something) When going 140 + if anything goes wrong people will be getting hurt. Not wearing a vest at that speed is just asking for extra if is anything was to happen.
Hey, bottom line is I've met you a few times and would hate to log on and hear the same story but with your name this time.
I know you remember when all that went down. The monday QB's were here going "Oh My God, I can't believe that happened" and I was sitting here thinking "what the fock, would you expect anything else?"
Ok, I'll get off the soap box now. That is a bad ass boat for sure. I could never even dream of having something like that!

just so you know, 60mph in my boat with the cav plate all the way down would prolly be worse. It would bow steer like a mother if someone tried to run one like that.
So Skater's don't ever crash. check

That's why you put the anchor out.
Anchor out = no bow steer

Yep, that was us I the gps was reading 103 when I backed out of it. I just did a few things to the boat to get some more speed and need to try and get on the water this week to dial some stuff in (as good as I can on Elsinore). Until then I am being a little careful. I have not even used positive trim yet since the mods. See you guys on the water.

I was thinking the same thing after watching that vid. Glad you felt/were safe, but moving that fast, it's everybody else out there that could hurtcha. I've been in a few bad boating accidents. Have seen a bunch more. Why tempt fate? AT LEAST put a (lifeline) jacket on next time?

Now that's funny. I still cannot belive BF pissed his pants drunk and passed out in SB. When I found out you, KROOZIN and your other buddy were heading out boys only, Alf, Nor-tec and I tried like hell to pull it. The Mrs. had none of it. I'm such a pussy.

Yer partner Boatfloating was in rare form on Saturday night. I should have known it was going to get ugly when I couldn't understand his jibberish over the celly...and that was at dinner... before the real drinking began. :supp:
I tried to get KROOZIN to take "KROOZIN FOR A BRUISIN'" out to Mojave for a boys' trip in October. He couldn't get a hall pass.
Apparently, you've met your match in the "Women control my life" category. :hammerhea

I love partying with Rock. The boy is absolute entertainment. He trys so hard to pull it off but screws the pouch everytime. KROOZIN FOR A BRUISIN is a great name for Dan's boat. And the worst part women control is she's only 5 foot. Makes me look way more like a pussy.

I saw your boat at Lakeland Sat what did you do to it????
I put on some jack plates with 5.5" setback, and LakeLand installed external pick ups so I don't have to worry about water pressure when the motors go up.
I am going to try and get to Elsinore this week to try some different motor heights. Props are next...
