One of our OSO peeps is having a medical emergency forcing the sale of his boat, we are all coming together in the form of a raffle in order to raise the cash price of the boat and show some solidarity at the same time. This is not limited to OSO peeps, it's applicable to all boaters that want to help, it is organized by Steve the owner of OSO who is a man of considerable character so you don't need to worry if this is a scam, it isn't. The 31' Cigarette is worth every penny of the asking price but you can get her for a mere $100 ticket, I'm in for 2 personally. You can read the whole story here.

Unfortunatly you and I both know that if it were a straight up donation it wouldn't work. In 1 day with the raffle they are already at 20% or so.

Finally signed up there after a couple years of lurking. Also donated to the raffle. Thanks for the heads up Ken.

If he needs 100% of the proceeds, you are right, but he may just need some of the weight lifted off, and he might be able to make things work. I just feel sorry for a guy that is on hard times due to an illness, and I'm sure he has suffered enough, and then he has to give up something he loves. :frown:
