What drives (gears) does he have on that to run 80+ with 24's? 1:36's ?

I don't think a 360HP small block could spin a 24 with 36's. Seems about right for twins with 50's in the drives.

I swing labbed 26P' Bravo 1's to 5100rpm through 1.65 ratio with my 377's . MX 6.2 377 is 30 HP less than the 377 Scorpion at the prop . My boat does a tad over 70 with 1/2 fuel and 4 people . Don't know what's his boat weighs . My boat weighs over 6500 without people and gear  .
80+ is not impossible with his setup on a cat .

I'm thinkin' the 24s are labbed too. Properly dialing in a top-notch cat like this usually includes a pair of labbed wheels.

He did not have the drives re geared...Its the stock XR Drive gear configurations. The props are standard 24p. Not labbed. Having twins helps the stability of the boat when trimmed up and makes a bit faster in this case.

I don't see how 1.50 gears turning 24p props can run 80+. That thing would be screaming big rpm's.
I am not saying anything about power to turn props, just that those can not be 1.50's running at 80+mph.
Spectras only,
You are turning 26's (but of course you are running 1.65's) and you are hitting 70 at 5100. now drop your ratio down to 1.50 and then your props down to 24's and you would still be around 70. Again it is not the power or the capability to run 80 plus, just I don't see it with 24's.

Trigger, don't know what RPM's he's running . The rev limiter is set to 5150 for the MX engine. The Scorpion has forged pistons , more cam & duration ,the rev limiter maybe set higher too.

Ah, but you can't compare a V to a Cat. Lot less prop slip on a cat. There's generally 8-10 mph difference between the two.

I stand corrected...26p prop...I've been in the boat....Unless GPS is flawed this a true 80 mph boat!

These are stock XR drives.. He has not touched them at all. The numbers do not lie!

Yep, 1.5s. It would be pretty incredible to see 360HP (or so) spin a 26 wheel with 1.36s. My 425HP in a 30' V will barely spin a 24, and likes a 22 even better.

Well, see I thought there had to be something different than 24's. 26's are more possible to believe with those numbers. I knew I was not crazy!!
