BAD IDEA
California already has among the highest state tax rate in the nation. Tax revenues are at record levels. Time to cut expenses to balance the budget. We need sweeping reform by kicking to the curb all our political leaders that have screwed us all with no lube.
Arnold is the first step. RE-ELECT ARNOLD!

Raising taxes DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM OF OVERSPENDING. Time to cut the fat. Kalifoniastan has been ran by a majority of tax and spend democrats. Democrats have ruled the state for 10 solid years, and what do they have to show for it? Oh wait, lets Blame Arnold for the 10 year spiral of California.

I would rather see then go around and gather up all the illeagals..... I am sure if they were all gone CA would be alot closer to a balanced budget then if they raised the VLF....or why don't they take anohter 1k from the ppl that make over a 100k a year. Or why don't they hire head hunters that go in to state agentcys and cut the fat. Or we could always make it so that the leg. don't get paid until the budget is balanced and on time. or I know lets tax the poor ppl even more.....

It's an idea, .... as anything, the people should vote on it. Of course, it probably wouldn't pass, since just about everyone would be affected. So far, almost every time a new Prop, or some type of cut from the governor has come up, the "employees" cry out (especially in this forum and not the political forum where they belong).
Why is it that on TV, I see more advertisements from the teachers, fireman nurses and police officers against the governor then I see trying to persuade us for the governor? Where is all of this advertising money coming from. Is it my benefits that they are looking for? Not a "special interest" group? Well more and more, if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, acts like a duck, then it probably is. I'm not real fond of special interest groups because they have their own interests at heart (hmmmm .... sounds familiar), not mine.

How about I come to your job , lets say Tommorrow and let you know that I, yes, I am now in control of your future, I am going to reduce your pay check , 401k, families health benefits and yes SHUT THE F*** UP AND TAKE, stop crying, Im rich and that is my perrogative....

That's such a pile of crap. Maybe you've got your union glasses on and can't see what's going on?
Paying 90% pensions after a handful of years on the job will bankrupt this state for years to come. You and your union bretheren's benefits are the major cause of the problems and Arnold's trying to fix it but you guys don't want to part with a dime.
Be careful what you wish for. If Arnold doesn't fix this state it may never be fixed. But what do you care as long as you get what you want - let someone else pay for it - yeah, like maybe your kids when they grow up.

State Budget Solved.....
Man....
I love you "My favorite Socialist".......
Here's your FIX.......
I say let's limit the Government to a 5% budget increase each year, similar to most American families.......This goes for Teachers, Public Safety and the rest of the bureaucratic MESS!!!!
And when times get tough you get the same amount for a few years......
And if they get a bit tougher, you get 5% less than you did the year before..
JUST LIKE THE REST OF AMERICA RUNS ITS HOUSEHOLD !!!!
Not continuing to dip it's hands into OTHER PEOPLES POCKETS because they can't stick to a budget!!!!
This special election is about Living within YOU'RE means !!!!!
You know ?....all you public service guys need to move to Sweden (Where Sbark1 is moving to) where the income tax rate is about 80%............No one WORKS anymore, because the incentive is all gone !!!!
Grow up !!!!!!....
The scare tactics from teachers & public safety don't work anymore.....
BTW......I agree with you on the illegal alien part .......

Everyone should get a petition and have atleast 6 people sign it.....

Every pay day the State takes my money without even asking. I work in the private sector and if I want to make money you have to want to buy my product.
What happens after the car tax is raised and we get by the next couple of years without going bankrupt were is the next place to go and raise taxes to pay for new firefighters, teachers, cops? Do you not have to pay the same taxes that we do or is the unions going to get a special bill passed by the state that would exempt them from paying what us average Joe's pay.(I know sounds stupid just making an arugment).

I didn't say you were gonna' get 5% EVERY year did I ???
I said that some years you would get an increase, some you wouldn't a penny more and SOME....you'd take a pay cut!!
You guy's would screw yourselves into the ground if you had to take a pay cut !!!
And.....2% on $200K a year is not a bad raise !!!!
Some people never make $200K a year !!!!
Hell.....You'd probibly get 5% if it wasn't for those union dues!!!!

Gray Davis and his buddies already did that to businesses in Cali, (like myself) in the form of the highest workmans comp rates (State Fund) in the nation. My workmans comp rates are over double of what I was paying 4 years ago. I have half the amount of employees that I did 4 years ago and less revenue. :notam:
