He's only been in karate for about 4 months but he really loves it.
P.S. I've another unrelated picture of him that I really love but he's got red eye going on. Can anybody fix it for me?

I bet he does well! There is a student at our Dojo that is 7 who has some mild form of autism and he does very well at it. My kids have been doing it for 2 1/2 years. It really helped my son with balance. When he started, he could not stand on one leg.
Kilr, did you ever find a school for your kids?

We're really glad he's taken a shine to it cuz it was something that was recommended as a way to help him for the same reason - balance. He has developmental co-ordination disorder but the occupational therapy, soccer and karate are greatly helping him gain core strength and improve his balance. What a bonus he enjoys it!

I think his sensai (sp? ) is quickly becoming a hero to him - so the respect part has definitely begun.

I'll pass that idea on to his Dad and Grandma! :D Jacob has been fighting "monsters" since he was around 4 and he is now combining that imaginary play with what he learns in karate class! The monsters don't stand a chance now!

Someday it'll be me saying something similar. :clover:  He's already just over 4'7". He'll be 9 in a couple of weeks - Nov.1st.
Do you recall giving your kids permission to grow up? I'm certain I tried mine on a maintenance "stay a little boy forever" diet but I think I must have been swindled in that deal - he just kept using it to grow! :D
