To all the Moto X people.......... I need some info.
I just looked at a Brand New 2004 Honda XR400, I can get it for $5200 OTD
Is that good? Is the bike good?
Lets hear it....

What kind of riding are you planning on doing? That bike is fine if your looking at trail / dual sport stuff. Might be a little steep on price.

Great trail bike but not good for MX.

Don't worry, you never will on that tank :D You should seriously look around for a good used CRF450. It is a great over all MX bike, easy to ride and plenty of power when you need it. You should be able to find a decent 04' for around $4,000 to $4,500. Little more for an 05'. Good luck

CRF 450, would have my vote! I would spend a little more $$$ and get one. But the XR 400 is a great trail bike. Good Luck.

Thats tooooo steep for that bike. XR's are a great reliable bike for desert and trails, very low maintanance, easy to ride. I personally ride a 650R, fast, smooth, and like Slink said, HEAVY!!
Heavy isnt such a bad thing though, in its element.
CRF450X is a superb off road bike, and you could probably get one for not too much more than that $5200.00
The 450R can be had for less as a pre-owned.

Might be high Jerry :( I paid that for mine a year ago. Should have gone down some in a year, even if it is brand new.
The CRF450 is a great bike, just a couple thousand more

For the money I would get that 450 in the other thread.

Hi Jerr,
You'll be doing more than just trail riding.
As soon as we rent a track again, you'll want to be there. It's the only place to polish your skills, and makes you so much faster on the trail.
The XR hasn't changed in about 10 or more years. Same bike, different stickers. It is a reliable tank. Air cooled is good, but not necessary to buy new.
If you like the XR/trail idea, pick up a good used one for 2500-3K. If you might want to go faster soon, talk to a few people here. Your boy shitty, I mean shifty might have a hookup?
A 5 year old 250 will be faster than you can ever ride, and will cost under 3K also.
Otherwise, spend 500 more than that XR and get a new 05 CRF.

My 03 XR400R I payed 4800 out the door in 04. It's an awsome bike for riding in the desert. CRF's are Motor Cross Bikes and not designed for hard desert riding, they have light weight everthing.

Hey Rev....
I am selling my 2004 CRF 450 for 4500.00. It has very low hours, it is very clean and has been meticulously taken care of. The motor has no modifications to it, factory stock. The suspension has had only oil changes, never been revalved or modified. It has the full titanium pro circuit pipe with spark arrestor, a GPR Steering stabilizer, SKid plate, and Pro taper bars. It is a great bike and would be great for you.
Whether you are interested in my bike or not doesn't matter, here is my advice.
I have over 23 years of riding experiance from motorcross tracks to gran prix's to play riding with my buddies. The price on the XR400 is VERY HIGH. Not the best deal in my opinion. If you are set on buying new, get a new Honda CRF450 from LA Honda in Inglewood, Ca. They are currently selling them for $5899.00 out the door.
The CRF250 is a very good bike. Same bike as the 450 with less power (Low end torque). If you are over 180 lbs, get the 450. It will go faster when you want to go faster, it will last longer, and it will putt around easier at slow speeds (more torque).
Just my .002, I hope it helps. Pm if you wanna talk anymore about bikes, I can talk all day about them.

Make sure that the bike that your looking at is in good shape because this is a good deal. The extra's on this bike are worth alot. If your doing trail riding or any kind of desert riding the GPR Steering stabilizer is huge. The bike shop he is speaking of is very good and they have the best prices around.
Good luck with your purchase and hope to see you in the desert soon.

We are going with the Pixilatedpussy's this trip. I have not really checked on the location in her thread. Sean goes a couple times a year. He takes his bike. I am not even going to try to ride my 125 out there. She is allergic to sand. :D :D :D Sean usually camps by the aquaduct. This time we will be behind the beach store. :D

(this is Mike, forgot to log Jes off)
Thanks Carribean!!! If you know anybody that wants to buy it, please let them know about it. If I was smart I would keep it, but im not so I guess its $8000.00 for a new KTM! TIme to get my desert racing on again!!!! :D
If I can find you a buyer I will. I ride the 450 and Have many of the same options and I know what they cost. The bike looks like its in great shape. spending a few extra bucks in this case would actually be saving some money. The stabalizer and the suspension is some serious money, I ride Enzo.
Good luck on the sale

Congratulations on your new ride Reverend!!!!!!Thats awesome!!! WHat did you end up getting????
Lets go ride! Jessi said I can go riding with you if you drop Courtney off over here on our way out there.....hehehe.... :D
I got a CRF450R for me and a XR80 for Court.... The 450 is so frikin nice!!! I love it. It's got power above and beyond what I'll ever need!!
Thanks again to Redwing247 for the great deal and for making this so easy. Court loves the lil peanut bike and can't wait for her first lesson on it.
As for dropping Court off??? It could be a problem, I think Jess needs a bike and will come with us !! :D :D :D
I'm trying to find a easy place to go for next weekend so I can cruise around and show Court the basics on the 80. Any suggestions.
