Im a ford guy, but this D-max sure kicks the crap out of my F250, even if you take the Dmax out... The truck is all around better

I have no brand loyalty. Everything has it's good and bad points, but even If you leave engine power and reliability out of it, I don't really like the styling of any of the new trucks. IMO it looks like everybody hired a bunch of blind emotionless refrigerator stylists who drew everything with a ruler while drinking heavily. Currently I'm still driving a 97 F150 due to lack of desire to own something new, and it's paid for, and the faulty cruise control hasn't burned it to the ground yet :)

All Chevy's for 20 years and then 1 Ford. Hate to say it, but this Ford really has lived up to its name for me .... Found On Road Dead. Problems since I bought it.
Average milage on Chevy's ... 163K before anything major. Maybe this FOrd was just a lemon.

I have always driven Fords. I have had great luck with them and I prefer the looks of there trucks over Chevys and Dodges.

I have been a chevy guy my whole life but when i needed a diesel I bought a dodge because of the cummins engine. I think out of the big 3 its the better truck overall

i have owned all three at one time or another.. but if you talking about new, i prefer the dodges and i like any color.. as long as its all white. :skull: :skull:

It depends on what I need the truck for....
i have to admit that it would be anything but a Ford....
Most likely a GM...as they are just a little fancier than a Chev...but overall it would be GM product then the Dodge...

I have driven all 3 quite a bit.(All except the newly launched Duramax and latest Powerstroke)
If I was going to pick a truck to drive daily it would have to be the Chevy hands down. The size of the truck is more condusive to parking in regular parking spots and the turning radius is a ton better than the Ford.I personally like the Chevy's looks better.
The Fords make great work trucks and tow vehicles.I have driven a Powerstroke with a couple different performance programs and the 6.0 is flat out nasty fun when you increase boost.I also like the size of the F-250 4x4 as it feels like a chevy with a 3" lift stock. The looks are OK and I do not like the interior.
The latest Dodge with the HO motor is a monster! We put exhaust on it and the owner had a drop in filter and it felt like the other 2 trucks with a 50hp performance tune.Interior is decent and the looks are ok.Overall I would probably look at the Chevy followed by the Dodge and then the Ford.
Reliabilty wise they are all a crap shoot?I have heard about problems in the truck line for all 3 manufactures.
If your talking about gas motors I would leave the Ford off the list as there 5.4L is a pile of junk.It mkes way less power than the Chevy 5.3,Dodge 5.7 and the Nissan 5.6.

If you want an easy to get into smooth ridin truck, get a chev. Not many will contest to that. But if you want tonz of stock power and tonz of upgrade ability get a dodge. If you ever look into truck pulls, 75% of the trucks there are dodges. Thats proof there alone. Here is a stand alone site for all diesel lovers. See what everyone is runnin.

I have had 2 fords and 2 chevys.
85 ranger
91 f 150 xl
98 sliverodo
87 gmc s15
the 85 ranger and a 4 banger and a auto lb.... I bought it from my grander father in 276k miles the only thing that was done was a water pump and a fuel injection moduel
98 sliverodo I bought new at 5k miles it blew a head gasket, then again at 17k miles, at 22k miles the tranny started to slip real bad. dealer fixed it I sold back to them for more then I owed.
f150 extra long bed bought from my uncle in 99 had 120k on it he used it for work.I put 160k more on it had to replace the fuel ijectors at about 175k at 250k I had to cat so it would pass smog. at 279k i was rearended at that point all that was wrong was a slight loss in power i was going to replace the motor with a new one from ford. I would love to find another one of these trucks I loved it.
87 s 15 2.8 v6 what I have now bought it in 02 during my Sr at CSUS( I was broke and it was cheap) had about 78k old man owned it then died bought it off wife. At 103k the trany when out. at 137k the power stearing pump bracket broke send the pump into the timing cover cracking the water pump and shearing off the timing cover. Went too all the junk yards to find one they were all cracked in the same place mine was. so I went to the gm dealer... the bracket gaind almost 4 lbs( yeah they didn't know something was wrong)143k motor blew I put a one out of a blazer that only had 69k miles on it. 148k while on a camping trip coming down hill my proptioning valve on my breaks cracked. 160k the ignition switch ( at the bottom of the colum when out) it has about 180k. I am amazed at how much pwoer this little truck has for a small v6 ( 410 rear end I am sure helps with that alot)
its done stick a fork in it. I wish I had known when I bought it that it was the last year of the 2.8 and the 1st year of the surpenten belt.
I would love to buy a new truck at this point but do too some medical bills I can't afford one....( 23k in bills from a trip to the ER and 2 days in after getting knocked out while biding a remodel after a fire.... still suing the The home owners Insurance to get that back + lost wages)
This does not count things like breaks, plugs, hose and other maintances stuff.
At this point with all the porbs I have had with GM trucks( and other GM products) I am done with GM

The F-750's have a Cummins motor not a powerstroke. I guess that takes care of the diesel argument. In my opinion Fords look the best, Chevy has the nicest interior, and Dodge has the better power train.
