Hmmm.. I need a boat for next season. I have to be realistic about how soon I can have the Spectra retored and the money its going to take.
I bought a house and now all my restore money is going to landscaping. BUT, I could buy this one, tool around for a year or so and take my time with the Spectra. And if your motor is around 450 or more HP, I can swap it with the one in the Spectra when its finished and save the cost of a rebuild.
I am on the fence right now. I am an impulse buyer and need to sit on the idea for a couple days before deciding.

oh pull the trigger already

Knowing you... from the boards anyway, It appears to be dependable from your posts (the way it is being put together). He in NOT the most mechanically inclined person... Is it tempermental? Pump gas? all the normal questions. I am trying to talk his wife into buying it for Christmas for him.

Its a pump gas motor nothing exotic just a standard 462BBC just 91octane i wanted something reliable and i stressed that to the builder it has power but like i said nothing crazy pretty much turn key But like i said the motor is'nt even in the boat yet still at the builders shop (Tom Papp Racing many will vouch for) i had the headers refinished looks sweet new interior maybe has seen the water a few times all new wood and glassed new pump by Jack at MPD maybe 2 hours on it new tires on trailer etc.... i think my cost on the motor its self was around 6k.....
