Wow...I didn't even know.
I did have a moment of silence on November 10th to Commemorate the 30th anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald, though.
It was a short silence, but it's not the size that counts, right?
:D
PS- I feel honored that someone gets my running jokes around here....

Funny Gordon Lightfoot story..
Robby Robertson, a phenomenal guitar player, was talking during this concert he played about how much he dug the works of Gordon Lightfoot, and how he had influenced his songwriting and playing in the past. The problem was, his songs were just too long, so he played a condensed version of the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. I don't remember it exactly as I was laughing pretty hard, but you will get the gist...
First, he played the intro very, very well and with some cool inflection in his tones. Clearly, this was a guy who knew the whole deal. Then he started singing..
"Well the legend lives on from the Chippewa on down,
Of the Great Lake they call Gitche Gumee.
A real big storm came, and a big ship went down,
and twenty nine people died...Bummer..."
True story.

That's funny. Definately the condensed Reader's Digest version of the song. :D :D :D
