There is no reserve on the boat, but we put the opening bid at $60,000. I'm just kidding about not wanting it to sell. I want to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

All of the PBR money went to charity other than the $15,000 that Kompolt charged to do the auction on E-bay. We did not use Kompolt on this one to enable us to give more to charity. The $60,000 is to cover a portion of the costs to build the boat. Ultra Boats made no money on these boats and did not charge any labor. Many people helped with sponsoring items on these boats, including Extreme Trailers, Eddie Marine, Boat Bling, Arc Audio, and more.

LOL....actually 2 years ago I bought the Startbuck Athena machine for my wife with her saying she would give up the 2 mocha a day habit....and make them at home. That worked for like 6 months....at best. Wellllll, a newer machine comes out and she promises once again...so far so good since Sept....but I am almost sure it was almost a grand. Now that I will hopefully be a 2 boat family maybe I should give in a little............maybe;)

Why, if you intend on winning this item, would you possibly bid before the end of the auction? You're simply driving up the price of the item to yourself, if you win. You also draw people into emotional bidding wars when you constantly outbid them. Bid once, in the last couple minutes. If you win, you win, but I guarantee you, you'll win at a much lower price than if you starting bidding with 10 days left.
Its a good cause slim.....I dont mind playng a little bit.....besides, I have probably saved as much as I "might" spend on this boat since I left CA just on not going to the casinos...... I know how e-bay works....its a short learning curve...but thanks.

Probably a similar deal like what happened with Nascar helmet, they had to yank. Then it came back through on a new auction with someone policeing the bidders.

I think they thought they would get the $150,000 or close to it. So what if a bunch of Nascar drivers signed the boat. Big F'n deal.

How much of a policy would they need?
People bid, product sells, proceeds go to charity.......hello?

The policy is posted here:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/fundraising.html
Here's a snippet from that:
Sellers may only list items for charity without eBay Giving Works if they:
Are soliciting on behalf of recognized tax-deductible charitable organizations (for example, 501(c)(3) status or equivalent with the IRS).
Receive advance written consent for the solicitation from the benefiting nonprofit.
To verify you received permission, you must include a scanned copy of the consent in your listing. It must appear with the nonprofit’s letterhead, signed by an officer and include the nonprofit’s tax-deductibility status as well as your name or eBay User ID, dates of event/listings, and donation amount (percentage of the final sale price).

We need to scan a copy of a letter that gives us written consent to auction this boat for Victory Junction. We are working on that RIGHT NOW. I am trying to get the auction reinstated right now.

E-bay will not let reinstate the auction. I have to relist it with the authorization letter from the charity which I have in hand. I will be relisting the auction tonight and posting a new link as soon as I have it.
