I know the hp500 cam is 220/230 @.050 and 560/580 lift 110 lobe sep.
I believe the 525 is 224/234
And I want to say the 496HO is like 218/226
All have similar lift. Why do you ask?

The Merc books show the basic specs. I just finished a 454 Mag MPI motor for a friend. It looks stock but it has a .250" crank, longer rods and 9.4 compression. I used what I thought was the early 'HP 500 cam' (hydralic flat tappet), Crane #H-228/312-2S-14 T1.2 . I needed a cam for EFI (good solid vacuum) Merc seems to use very mild stuff as far as cams go, I have never seen a Merc cam that had 110 lobe center. This motor is in a 22' Daytona, 1.50 gear, 28 pitch Ron Hill 4 blade, it hits the rev limiter and pulls like a train. Next time I will try this cam ground on 112 lobe centers, it does not need all of the low end power it makes. intake- 530, (298) 228 @ .050 exhaust- 550, (306) 236 @ .050 on 114, in at 112

HO cam is .300 lift. 1.7 (stock) rockers = .510 at the valve.
Here is the HP500 cam:

After loosing a factory roller on a customers engine I had it re-ground by crane. the cam beer30 mentioned is what crane had re-ground it to. Crane had sent me a before and after grind sheet and confirmed my in shop measurements 220/230 560/580 and 110 lda. Twin fountain 38 saw no difference in rpm. If it matters these were hp500carb gen6 rollers. Have had a couple others apart, same cam. This doesnt mean there werent design changes though.I know for a fact you cannot exceed 560 intake lift on the new 496, piston to valve interference at 580!!

:D Gotta love the personal experience. That is what we all need, though. We can all speculate all day long.
