wow that looks awesome. How did you get the markers to fade like that?
I don't know much about gel coating a boat but can you use say automotive paint on the inside of the hull? Or would you have to paint it on the outside and use a crap load of clear coat?

here's one I did for another board member Phatt Matt using adobe illustrator and photoshop. They are great programs to use to get a good idea of what the final product could look like, but markers and pastels are the best to work with. Prisma color markers and Copic markers have vibrant colors to select from. I like copic because you can buy refill kits for $5.00 that will refill a maker 10x's instead of buying a new marker every time for $4-5 a piece. To blend markers you have to work quick with a wet on wet technique. If you wait too long it will dry and look streaky instead of blended. I also use a colorless blender marker to blend colors together. Paper has a lot to do with it, I use letraset marker paper. The markers don't bleed through as much as they do on regular typing paper. Like anything it takes practice. For every final drawing I am happy with, I have at least 5-10 throw aways to get there. You can buy the markers and paper from places like Michael's art and crafts store, or online at artstore.com
I hope this helps
Start off with a good line drawing

Then add marker in layers.

Prisma makes a colorless blender. It looks just like the regular prisma marker but it has a clear tip.
