I pulled in then went to back up to turn around and the brakes on the trailer locked up and with no traction i couldnt back up! IT SUCKED!
But the rent of the day made up for it by far..

Gary,
I am glad you are back at it. Looks like it was a great day. It also looks like you need a bigger truck.

yeah it was an awsome day the truck is a F550 with the whole banks kit! the elect to for the trailer is messed up so reverse doesnt disengage the brakes ..

Easy said when you have done it before. I will get there....slowly....lol
But after you have done it once you will want to keep going. Just make sure you have a gps and Vessel Assist and go with someone.

I have the same problem when I tow with my Ford. The Yukon disengages the brakes fine. Gotta hand it to them though... When the trailer brakes activate you can't F'ing move it..

You probably need to add the backup lights to the connector that engages the reverse lockout solenoid on the trailer. Chevy has it stock on the 7-pin connector that comes with the tow package- not sure about Ford.
If they are surge brakes...I'd just stick something in the keyway to keep the actuator from moving (that's how they do it while moving it with a forklift).
Looks like a nice day.

Force 26, try unpluging the cord set (truck/trailer). Sometimes it will allow you to back up. But in the long run its important you get it fixed, there are situations where you absolutely, positively need to back up.

Glad to see that your day got better! By the way, for all you that have done or do trips to catalina: I have the 25 Shockwave and was considering taking it over there for the day?? Just wanted to know if the boat is big enough for that trip and if it's safe to do so? I spend 100% of the time out in Parker and Havasu so i'm not familiar with the ocean. Thanks.

I guess us simpletons think "simple"... :D

The boat is big enough. Just make sure the conditions are OK (so you don't get frustrated that the ocean is winning) and bring the appropriate safety gear.
At Havasu, the "appropriate safety gear" is a good set of coozies...on the ocean, you need a little more.

I have been over there in a open bow 25' Shockwave. It was a nice and flat day though. We were full throttle the entire way. :)

Gary,
Those were some great shots.
What I ment by bigger was a 4x4 version or a 650 Super Cruiser.
I got stuck on a speed bump with mine because of the V in the trailer framing, I squared out the bottum of the trailer to give extra clearance.
I am just glad tosee you back out there.
Jim
BTW Love the new boat !!!

I see guys over at the Island in little 18ft center consoles all of the time, they take off early in the morning and head home before it starts blowing out of the West, usually around 2pm it starts to kick up a little bit and it can really be blowing around 5pm to 7pm. Make sure you have a VHF radio and I would join Vessel Assist (its cheaper than getting towed, I think around 150 bucks a year). Good Luck.
