What in your "opinion" is wrong with these pictures? Boating stupidity, boating safety to the limit and just plain WTF. Make sure to pick on Blane real good.

#1 not bright, but legal at no wake speeds.
#2 Not cool, not even for a Lifesaver boat..... :)
#3 Some people really like to wakeboard, its better than another 2000 pound wake maker...
#4 Normal. She could flip over that rail and fall out, but probably not a low speeds. I hope they made her sit down when they started going faster.

Actually # 1 is not legal. Cannot be on the bow while vessel is under way. Straight from the book.

#1, that little girl on the left could slip and hit the railing with her arm and poke herself in the brain with that finger.

hey if there's some verbal abusing going on I want to get in on it
just red X's here at work :(
from what I remember of the weekend those must be pics of Blane cruising out of the Topock Marina with his fenders still over the side of the boat? I think he did it so all the lake lice would stay clear of him thinking he was a rookie boater in a big-azz boat
and the other might be a pontoon with fenders out, lights on and orange vests being worn?? Can't ever be TOO SAFE you know...maybe they were practicing for Lake Perris?? :D

You said Lake Perris......... What you can't see is the Howard with the wake board tower and the kids on the bow of the little cruiser thing.

Correct--I got pulled over earlier this year in the Channel for girls sitting on the sponsons of the DCB...all riders must be in seats that are IN FRONT of the driver. You can sit on the rear engine hatch while at idle--no problems.

I gotta admit, the tower boat looks lousy as equipped. If you're gonna go wakeboard, use a tourney boat. That's what they're made for, that's what they do best. If you're gonna buy a good lookin' boat to rip it up on the water, leave the cages off the hull... just ruins the boat... .02 from me...

1. Boat is a Skipjack. Usually found in saltwater but his has AZ reg. My first experience with the Harbor Patrol at Dana Point about 30+ years ago as they popped my Dad for letting us kids ride on the bow just like that. It wasn't legal then either. Oh, and on the same boat brand. Skipjacks are brute tough. My pops ran his Skipjack in the big blue out of Dana Point for 20+ years and pulled out many a Marlin.
2. He will remember those fenders when he get moving as they pound the hull.
I have done this to many times to count.
3. It might not be illegal but its morally questionable.
4. Look at one of the knots holding the bow close fender on. It needs to be a little more secure  . Docking lights on while not docking and cruising around at night is a Boat Cop special but during the day must just be cool?

Riding on the bow is not illegal in AZ at no-wake speeds. Here's how it reads in the AZ boating handbook as to what is illegal:
Riding on Bow or Gunwales is allowing passengers to
ride where there may be a chance of falling overboard
while underway at greater than no wake speed on a
powerboat. Specifically, this means allowing passengers
to ride on the covered bow, transom or gunwales unless
designed for carrying passengers at all speeds.
In Georgia, with a railing such as in #1, you can ride on the bow at any speed. May not be smart, but not illegal.

The kids are not of legal age to be considered a "Co-Pilots" by most standards, therefore, we would be talking about wifey !! :)

#1 - Indicating a touchdown when none has been scored. 10 yard penalty.
#2 - Using hand as visor when shadows clearly indicate facing away from the sun. Send to bed without supper.
#3 - Horrible bow rail maintenance. While this isn't a penalty, strictly speaking, I'm going to charge a $10 per loa foot penalty, just to be safe.
#4 - Stern light incorrectly installed on front of bimini. No penalty but I'm going to tie down the hands of the woman in the orange top so she can't talk.
